Anyone else feeling sick yet?

I was sick all my last pregnancy. I never threw up enough to concern my midwife - but I felt 'this' close to puking almost all the time.

I think that the week that DD was born was the only week I didn't throw up at least once and she was born on a Tuesday

Over the last couple days I've started to feel slightly woozy. I'm hoping that it isn't so bad this time.

But just wondering if I'm alone?

Well I just posted yesterday that I had no sickness at all and then this morning I threw up So yeah definitely feeling it. I think the worst so far is the exhaustion and I'm already getting absent-minded. Today I left my purse on a shelf at the grocery store. Thankfully someone turned it into lost and found, but still. I've forgotten so many of the "joys" of pregnancy!

I have a feeling that this might suck this time.

Last time we were young with a nice bundle of savings. So it was totally fine for me to take a lunch, decide later that there was no way I could eat it - and go to the store by my work and get something different.

This time - I've been on half salary for 18 months (1 year of mat leave and then 6 months of part time). Our savings are much depleted and even though I'm going back full time - we need to save everything we can. So - the budget might really suck.

I never really thought of the money angle, but I definitely threw out a lot of food last pregnancy. We should be ok though since we were on a much tighter budget then. I'm mostly worried about how I'm going to take care of my active little boy when all I want to do is curl up on the couch. Thankfully he goes to preschool in the mornings but I'm already struggling to keep up with him the rest of the day. Back during the first pregnancy I'd get home at 5:00, eat dinner, and be in bed by 7:00. That's just not an option this time around!

I'm doing about the same as I was last time around (do we have any first time mamas in our group yet?)-- hungry as all get out, shaky sometimes-- like i feel low-blood-sugar-y for hours some days (I get this non preg also, just it's WAY worse when preg)......yesterday was the worst so far but DH made egg cheese and tomato burritos and i totally recovered. funny though as last time i couldn't even eat egg, so that may be coming soon too, which is annoying as i don't have the best veg diet.

geeting sleepier i think-- and whoa i woke up in the middle of the night to pee (common for me preg or not) and noticed my boobs were huge!

anyway, not pukey yet, but i'm guessing in about 2 weeks i'm going to be not-so-much-fun to be around

we head for a 2 week trip to australia for DH's work and that will be at about that time, so that will be interesting

Hi All!

I feel absolutely the same as ever. Maybe a bit tired, but no more than I might after a regular old long day, you know?

Physically, anyway. Mentally, my mind is racing and I'm nervous as heck! Ha.

I *know* I'll regret saying this, and I'm probably really going to look like a newbie now, but I'm looking forward to feeling a bit sick. It'll make this all feel more real to me!

puffnstuff--

yes, you may regret having said that, but i don't think wanting some sort of reassurance is in any way connected to being a "newbie"

It's only natural to want to feel something, to have some sort of sign that you aren't making it all up, that you didn't get a faulty test (or 2.....or 10).

Here's to hoping that all of us get just enough signs, but not so much that we are incapacitated

Hello All

I am only 4 weeks 2 days pregnant. I am not feeling sick yet. With my dd I got morning sickness around week six. I did have one episode of excessive saliva and nausea a couple of days ago.

I haven't been feeling much of anything yet....every so often I will feel a bit just UGH...but not so much that I feel like I am going to throw up...

I was never sick with my DS either...but I did have a couple of dizzy fainting spells. I hope that doesn't happen this time.

Now the exhaustion and fogetfullness....already in full force! I took a nap the past couple of days (thank goodness DS was ready for a nap too ) and last night I went to bed at 10pm (really early for me!).

puffnstuff- I totally understand! I don't really "feel" pregnant yet - I don't think the reality has set in! I have to keep reminding myself that I DID see 2 lines yesterday!

Well I peed 8 times today which is totally abnormal for me... and I was exhausted with a slight headache last night. And definitely some brain fog - but that may be from feeling overwhelmed with all the things related to pregnancy I have to think about now!

We have a vacation planned for next week, so perfect timing! I really hope I'm still feeling good. Looking forward to lots of one-on-one (two-on-one now?) time with DH. We're going to Glacier National Park for the first time.

Sarah - that sounds like a great vacation!

I'm starting to feel a little bit queasy and uneasy. With dd I didn't get sick until 6 weeks, so the fun's starting a week early this time

I haven't felt nauseated yet, but I have noticed my appetite has *decreased* these past couple of days, and my husband has noticed it too. I can't tell if it's my stomach actually upset, or if it's just nerves. I've also been feeling more tired. In fact, I could go for a nap right now! I can't figure out how much of this is physiological and how much is mental or emotional!

Not me... but it's still VERY early (4 weeks tomorrow). Ask me again in 2 weeks, eh?
I puked once yesterday...had to jump up from my desk and run to the bathroom...good think no one was in there! Other than that, I've felt pretty good.

This is my 3rd, and I have been nauseous very early this time. I felt sick before my boobs started hurting. I had very little sickness with my first, a lot with my second but only during the first trimester, and it started at about 5 weeks. I'm only 4.5 weeks right now and have been feeling sick for about 5 days!

I'm just feeling occasionally nauseaous, at unexpected times. No puking, but sometimes I think I'd feel better if I COULD throw up! I'm noticing the pregnancy is already affecting my blood sugar, so now I have to have more protein and fewer carbs at breakfast. Otherwise I feel kinda bad (lightheaded and icky.)

I'm so happy to be occasionally sick and often tired. Our last pregnancy, that ended in a m/c at 12 weeks, I had ZERO symptoms. I kept telling people I didn't even feel pregnant. Ugh. Thank goodness for symptoms! (Please, don't burst my bubble! Let me remain convinced that if I have symptoms, I cannot m/c again!)

I have not ever found a decent fix for nausea. If anyone has something that helps, post it! I can't use Preggo Pops because they carry a nut warning; I'm allergic to nuts.

Not yet, but it's still very, very early. I usually start to feel sick (and I ALWAYS feel sick) somewhere around 5-6 weeks. I'm only 3 now. I don't look forward to that part, but at the same time it always assures me that everything is okay!

I was only nauseus from weeks 6 to 8 last time and what worked for me (as in if I didn't do it, I couldn't even get dressed in the morning) was to put a pb&J sandwich or banana by the bed at night. I would either eat some when I got up to pee at night, or when I woke in the morning I would eat it lying down before I even sat up-- let it settle a bit and I was fine.

Let's hope it's as easy this time! (although I think I'm way more hungry this time-- already)

I researched a huge list of things for 'morning' sickness when a friend had it really badly. I'll see if I can find the mail to her.

edit: Couldn't find the mail, but most of the info I got from http://gentlebirth.org/archives/nausea.html

I only felt nauseous a couple times in my pregnancies with my sons, so it's not a symtom I'm expecting (although I am feeling a bit atm it's probably psychological). My one guaranteed, I'm definitely pregnant symtom is heartburn. I get it starting around implantation. With both my sons, it was really, really horrible, every day. This time around I only seem to be getting it when I lay on my right side and even then it isn't every time.

I'm also stuffier than usual and while I'm tired, my pre-pregnancy (& still continuing) insomnia may be as much or more to blame than being pregnant.

I haven't noticed my breasts getting bigger, but they're already huge, so I don't think I'd notice. It was a bit painful to nurse ds2 last night, though.
