low supply and rejecting one breast

I thought I had finally made it out of the woods. We have dealt with low weight gain and low supply. My dd finally started gaining weight and I was able to get her off supplements.

Now she is rejecting one breast. She loves the other to death. If I had never had supply problems, I wouldn't worry. But I am sure I can't feed her with just one breast. She will only nurse on my right breast if I am lying down. So the obvious answer to feed her lying dow, but I have two three year olds, so I can really only lie down to feed her at night or when my husband is home.

When I pump, my breasts don't seem that different. I don't think that it is strong or slow letdown, but it could be. She did have an ear infection four weeks ago and I thought it hurt to rest on the painful ear, but she has been checked and the ear is clear.

Any ideas what the problem is or how I can help it?

Congrats on the progress you've made. If the pumping suggests you get the same amount of milk I can't imagine what she thinks the difference is.

The only thing I can think of would be to co-sleep overnight with her on the right. And/or to experiment with a variety of holds. Perhaps the football hold? Or if you are more coordinated with me maybe try a sling to try and approximate the postion she's in while sidelying.

I have a chocolate boob too, but I think the let down is slower on the "white" side, and because I've repeatedly just "let her" have the chocolate side when I need to feed in a hurry in public, there is less milk too. Good luck!

I dealt with side preference. My left side has less milk and scarring on the nipple so ds doesn't really like that side. I pumped it a lot to get the supply higher in that side, used that side at night, and always made him eat from that side first. There were a lot of tears (both of us), but we got through it.
