I do really well through the week becuase my husbands not home and we are pretty much isolated out here, other then a corner store and a little restraunt , but were about 20 mins from a major center, and I dont drive so I really dont have the opprotunity to spend....BUT....come the weekend..I like go into spending over drive! It goes totally against everything I believe in , and everything I want for us...but....wow..
so my commitment is to stop spending money for the sake of spending money this month.....I want to figure out more ways to lower our grocery bill.
Our garden is growing amazingly well, so that will help.
I am looking forward to this..

July 1st (Canada Day ): $30 for strawberries and slushie, $2.50 for a movie
July 2nd: $55 on groceries and additional jam making supplies. $1.30 for kid treats
July 3rd: : Smooth sailing; I'm not leaving the house, lol! Unless DH convinces me to go somewhere tonight (and I will resist), it should be a no spend day here

2 - , no drive
3 -

plans are:
*look into moving somewhere cheaper (hubby will have to transfer)
*eat out of freezer (since we couldn't move the food anyway)
*try to only have tv on if someone is actually watching it
*place extra furmiture/household for sale
*leave dryer unplugged when not in use
*continue to hang/rack dry most laundry
*try to use a/c less

(no spend) 20/31
(budgeted, unnecessary) 10/31

progress:

2/10

I know I am a couple days late joining in but I really need to try this.
I will be moving towards the end of August, so I need to save any extra money for moving expenses.

I posted on a website for any additional odd jobs I could pick up to make extra money.

-no extra spending (no coffees out, etc.)
-I have a monthly bus pass already bought (so no cab rides). Ride bus or walk
-no eating out (eat out of pantry/freezer)

No Spend
Budgeted Spend
Non-Budgeted Spend

July1: spent less then 10$ at the holiday celebration
July2:

I am itching to make a lunchtime thrift trip today. I still have some cash in the budget for the week, and don't expect to leave the house tomorrow through Sunday...can I justify it?

What kind of white noise machine is it?
Nadia -- It is made by Homedics $19.99 they have them at Walmart, Target, and Bed, Bath, and Beyond...I've seen them lots of places. It plays rain, ocean noises, waterfall etc. I read about the machines in "Happiest Baby on the Block"

BUT...one huge downside to a white noise machine is that you can't hear ANYTHING else going on in your home when one is playing...the house two doors down from us burned down two years ago and we didn't even hear the firetrucks. Also they are addictive...as you can see by my toddler not being able to sleep without one.

I fell off the wagon...and it was the lemonade one! I FORGOT!

July 1-Good
July2-Good
July3-Fell off lemonade wagon...and the day isn't over yet.

Also, I was confused about what day it was yesterday. I thought yesterday was July 3rd.

Ah, well.

I don't know how you all do the serious no spending. I'm just trying to get hold of some of the frivolous stuff right now...and I messed up already!

Well, at least I am starting.
