Exactly.

And so far not so good for me. An Enwrapture skirt co-op just opened up, and I'm getting one for myself and three for xmas presents. At only $8.80 each it's a great deal, though. Flame away!

My dd1 is sick, so I think the county fair is probably out. I was thinking Wednesday was the only reasonable day to go, but maybe we can this weekend.

I'm not going to try to skimp on food, sacrifice quality in the name of frugality, but I'm curious if I can spend $400 or less.

1. Please introduce yourself and tell us why you have decided to spend nothing (or spend significantly less) for the Month of July.

My name is Megan and I have decided to spend less this month for a number of reasons. The first being we need to pay down credit card debt. Also, my husband is in the military and we are waiting for orders to move. Even though the military pays for moves, there are always extra expenses, so we need to save up.

2. No spending is hard work. You need a plan. Please tell us your game plan -- how do you plan to approach no spending for a month?

I am going to try to cook more meals at home this month. I grew up in a home where my mother NEVER cooked so it has been difficult for me. Ive got some new recipes that I am going to try out. Also I am going to stop shopping for entertainment.

3. Be specific! What are your goals? How many no spend days is right for you? Do you have a savings goal? Debt repayment goal?

My goals this month are to only spend within my budget. To do this, I need to drive less and cook more.

1. Please introduce yourself and tell us why you have decided to spend nothing (or spend significantly less) for the Month of July.

My name is Amy and I'm a SAHM to 4 kids. In June we took a couple of trips and we have another planned for late August so I'd love to spend the bare minimum and save up money between now and then.

2. No spending is hard work. You need a plan. Please tell us your game plan -- how do you plan to approach no spending for a month?

Basically the plan is no going to Target, no online spending, no eating out- all the normal ways, we just need to actually do them. I did pretty well last month after reading Dave Ramsey and I'd like to continue and build on that.

3. Be specific! What are your goals? How many no spend days is right for you? Do you have a savings goal? Debt repayment goal?

Ok- I'm going to go with 25 out of 31 no spend days. And I'd like to add at least $1000 to our savings account.

Why'd you have to post that, Beth?? I WILL stay away from the skirt co-op!

My friends are already try to talk me into 2 nights of music & camping next weekend when my kids are with their dad. I said that if I can sell enough hula hoops before then (I posted them on craigslist) to make the cost of the tickets ($60, I think--that would be 4 hoops), then I will go (and we'd carpool up & split gas costs). Otherwise, there's a little festival near my house that's only $1 to get in, so that would be fun too.

Other than that, so far so good I'm out of coffee--will be getting some delivered with my produce tomorrow--and didn't stop on my way to work to get some. I really want to stop the little trips to the grocery store and stick to once a week. Today is my grocery day, plus I need to pick up some diapers for my DS (hopefully the last time I'll need to buy them--he's doing great on the potty!) I'm going to do my best to keep my spending down when I'm there.

i am andrea. we have a 3 year old and a 2 year old. i'm a sahm and plan to be for the foreseeable future.

i want to way cut down on our eating out. i also want to just stop frivilous spending. when i did this challenge before (maybe 2 years ago?) we committed to buying anything we needed (besides consumables) from garage sales or thrift stores. i want to do that again.

my goal is not to eat take-out or drive thru on any consecutive days - and not more than once a day when i do. i will also purchase any items we need used.

i want to get our spending and our debt to a point where we are comfortable and able to add more kids to our family. we have not had any luck doing it 'the old fashioned way' so it's gonna cost us some bank.

i'm gonna try and bring my husband to this thread too.

1. Please introduce yourself and tell us why you have decided to spend nothing (or spend significantly less) for the Month of July.

I'm Jenn, a SAHM and part-time writer/editor, with a 2 year old DD (who is standing on my desk erasing my dry-erase board while singing as I type this!). I really really need to get our budget under control, especially since my DH is facing a court case this month that could impact us really negatively financially. I have been spending way, way too much on groceries too, and need to cut back!

2. No spending is hard work. You need a plan. Please tell us your game plan -- how do you plan to approach no spending for a month?

-- Shop at Trader Joes and our local "regular" supermarket unless absolutely necessary (this also includes cutting out a lot of organics, which makes me sad, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do).
-- Pack lunches on outings rather than buy expensive, crappy lunch at the zoo or out with friends.
-- No eating out save for one allotted cheapo meal while running errands on weekends.

3. Be specific! What are your goals? How many no spend days is right for you? Do you have a savings goal? Debt repayment goal?

Big goals this month!

1. Pay off plane ticket purchase ($715) for our trip back east in Sept. by the end of the month so I can avoid interest charges.
2. Keep ALL basic grocery/household spending to less than $150 a week.
3. Buy ONLY what is on my list for planned trip to Ikea this coming weekend (same goes for any Costco runs!).

Today I only spent $1.50 on veggies for tonight's dinner (a planned expense) -- so far so good!

I am Peter, dad to Jet(3) and Marvel(2) husband to Aja.

My goal is to keep frivolous spending very low because I want to pay down debt and become a cash only (no credit) household. We live far below our income, because we lived far above it for a while and are paying for it now.

Major goal 1/22 days not buying lunch at work.

I brought left-overs for lunch (and some pretzels and a PBJ sandwich). But I did buy a refil on my Soda mug.

Total off budget spent today:
$1.00 - soda refill
