What do you wash your face with?

I have been using coconut oil on my face, but I need to wash my face with something before I put it on. What do you use? I've tried water but it doesn't seem to get the dirt out (I live in a desert). I tried baking soda in water but am not sure about it. Any and all suggestions, ideas, etc. are welcome.

Right now I use a combination of Oyin's Black Soap Cleansing Foam with honey and the OCM.

Just to see how well the Oyin cleanser cleaned off dirt, I washed my face with the foaming cleanser and then applied my oil- castor, jojoba, rosehip seed, lavender and lemongrass EO's- and rubbed my face with a dry wash cloth and was amazed at how much dirt was still on my face. I kept gently rubbing until I no longer saw dirt.

Now I always use the oil after the cleanser to get all the excess dirt off and then I don't need any moisturizer. So you could apply the coconut oil and wash it off with hot water(Oil Cleanse Method) or try the dry wash cloth to clean your face.

I've been using raw honey to wash my face. I'm also using ACV as a toner. I'm not 100% sold on the honey yet but I'm keeping at it. I would like to use the OCM a few times a week but I haven't bothered buying any of the oils yet.

Dr. Bronner's : I thought it would be too harsh, but it's not.

Nothing. I used to have awful pimples, but since I went no soap/no cleansers, my skin looks wonderful!

Out of curiousity how often do you wash your face? Do you wear make up?

I use honey every day. I massage it in and let it rest (while I am in the shower) then I rinse it off. Once or twice a week I use the OCM rather than use honey.

I also use raw honey and love it!

Are you use the liquid or bar? I'm curious about this.

I use this to wash my face:

I use this as a toner:

For moisturizer, I use this:

My skin has never looked better; I actually look younger now than I did 5 years ago.

FYI.... The ingredient listing on the website for the Thayer's Witch Hazel does NOT match the ingredient listing found on my bottle at home. My bottle at home has ingredients that match this one:

but substitutes rose water for the cucumber.

I just started the oil-method of facial cleansing, and I love it.

I use the grapeseed shea soap from Chagrin Valley. I have rosacea and it's the most gentle on my skin, while still thoroughly cleansing. I tried honey and OCM and both aggravated my skin.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I really appreciate them!!:

We use Kiss My Face Olive Oil Soap and I just started using it on my face when I ran out of my usual face wash. It is really gentle and natural, and seems to not dry my skin out. So far I'm loving it!

I also only use soap on my face once a day. I find just using water to be good enough for the other time. My skin has been better since I cut down on soap.

I'm curious, what is the OIL METHOD? How do you do it?

I wash my face with a bar of olive oil soap or occassionally some St. ives pore scrub (I have really clogged pores). I use Burt's Bees moisturizer every night too.

Has anyone found an alternative for a face scrub or a natural way to unclog pores?

If I feel that I need some exfoliation, I just use brown sugar mixed with a little bit of honey or water for a face scrub.

Raw honey here, too! I also mix w/ sugar for exfoliating my face, hands, and feet. I use more sugar on the hands/feet than on my face, though.

raw honey here as well. i find the honey has enough grit to exfoliate pretty well, but i've heard that some will add some baking soda or ground almonds (ground in a coffee grinder) to the honey for extra exfoliating power.

i use liquid Bronner's too, on occasion, since it's what we keep in the shower for body wash.

Homemade soap. I'm a dirty farmer & like to see the dirt come off.

I just use the coconut oil to remove eyemakeup, wash my face, moisturize my face and use with brown sugar as an exfoliator once a week. The stuff is amazing!
