Update thread 6/27

I'd like to start this post with a dramatic "Today is THE day", but it feels rather anti-climactic, since Sunday might be the day, and THE DAY doesn't seem to mean squat around here.

So, no sickies this morning, but I was up off and on most of the night with hip/pelvic pain, and seized up lower back muscles. I can't remember when I didn't have this sort of pain...it's weird. Lying down and sleeping don't really offer the rest and relaxation they used to. I wish I could sleep underwater!

As usual, nothing is happening. Baby moves fine, especially in the mornings and evenings. No contrax to speak of. My day will probably consist of cleaning, laundry, some walking and maybe a visit to the municipal pool, if it doesn't rain.

The only good thing that has happened in the last two days is that we managed, for the first time since we moved to Montreal, to pay all our monthly bills, and our rent, ON TIME, and still have enough money left over for food and a few semi-frivolous items (DH really needs work clothing that doesn't have holes in them and I bought a set of unbreakable Corell dishes). Yay for the Quebec Parental Benefits Plan and DH's full-time salary! Oyah, and I'm about 1 hour of work/photocopying/scanning away from filing all our taxes packages for the last two years, both provincial and federal. It sounds really dorky, but I've always HATED having that stuff hang over my head.

Oh, and for some reason, I didn't even notice becoming a Senior Member and suddenly I've got this little bold message underneath my name....weird

HAM congrats on getting that stuff done - even the stress of something hanging over your head could be keeping you from letting go into labor. I had a few things like that yesterday and ever since I cleared them out my ctrxs have picked up. Here's hoping for you, soon!

40+1.

I'm more pregnant than I've ever been before! Which is kind of cool, in a way. Figures my *FOURTH* pregnancy would be my first to officially go overdue! (Nora was born 4 hours after her due date, but I was solidly in labor on my due date).

Bring on the treats!! Treat of the day: Baked goods from Fresh Market! Yum!!!

I just might be in super early labor, too... been having relatively light but regular contrax. They started yesterday evening at 10 mins apart, moved to 8 mins apart by 10pm, when I went to bed, I woke up for my normal 4am insomnia and timed them for an hour at 6.5 mins (EXACTLY) apart, and I haven't timed them this morning, but they seem to be a bit closer. Still so weak that I'm not getting excited... but, it's a sign that my body is getting the idea. Hey, sometime in the next couple of weeks, I'll probably have a baby! Who knew?!?

Belly rubs and labor vibes all around!! Baby snuggles to the pp mamas!

42 wks today...

Going swimming today, seemed to help bring on ctx the other day, plus it feels absolutely divine!!

Been having regular ctx since yesterday, but very mellow ones. On another post I was saying how yesterday my mw asked me if I was feeling the ctx(as she was palpating the belly and listening to the littleone), and I was like oh!, those little ones? I just ignore them. But then of course for the rest of the day, I realized they are actually about 6 mins apart. Now they just need to pick up! Got some acupuncture yesterday, we'll see if that helps at all. LOTS of cervical pressure when I am standing/walking, and baby's head is definitely way lower than last week. Not able to be moved at this point. All good things....now labor, please!! I AM READY!!!!!

ELV to all you about to have babies!!

As for the pp mamas, I hope everyone is doing well. Having a rough day today on Llewellyn's 10th day. I didn't get enough sleep last night so I'm tired and cranky and ds1 and dd are as well. Dd just through a huge tantrum and DESTROYED the living room in the process. I'm fighting back tears. Luckily my mom is on her way over for my last day of extra help. Also L seems to be getting a gooey eye and is a little stuffy. ugh. I'm also stressing about my mil coming next week. She literally hates me...sigh... and my best friend is moving across the country this weekend
I really need a nice hike in the woods but I don't think my bod is quite up to that yet. sigh

sorry for the sob story. Just having one of those moments. I'll go take some motherwort now and try to get a nap in today.

happy due date to me! :

40 weeks today, I discovered that my lilypie ticker does not actually expire, it does keep counting, so thats nice because thats how I keep track of what day to write on here

My grandma is stopping by today in the afternoon (please please say she waits until the afternoon, I need my DH to be home from work so I can have some sanity....) and after that I am totally fine going into labor. Not that I will, but just letting the universe know.....

I think I'm going to do little things for myself this week too, today we are getting a movie from Netflix (we had it turned off for a few months and got it turned on two days ago so we get our first movie today) and eating popcorn and other movie snacks. I'd love to get a pedicure, I've always wanted one but never gotten one. I don't think we can afford it right now but maybe DHs paycheck will be a little bigger than expected today and I can swing a cheapy one? maybe?

I feel bad that my LO is going to be born into our crappy air! I know that sounds silly, but I think maybe I'm not having any signs of labor partly because I'm scared to birth her into this environment right now! My allergies are SO bad from the smoke, and so are DD1s I think, we aren't allowed to go outside even (well I guess we're "allowed" but strongly advised to stay indoors...), I'm glad Libby will be born at home so I don't have to take her out in this yucky air!
I'm so envious of you moms going swimming too, I have wanted to go swimming for a week but I can't go outside!! :

Still here...still pregnant. 42 weeks + 4 days. I keep telling myself that it has to happen soon. No signs of labor yet, though last night on our walk I did have one real contraction. I think labor feels so good and just can't wait for it to start.

40+2

Feel like crap this morning. Upset tummy. Lots of BHX. Been active, hoping they progress to something.

Have a MW appt and an acupuncture appt today.

Finished DH's GST remittance this morning, which was hanging over my head much like HAM's taxes. Hoping that frees me up to give birth!

DDDDC = Dirty Deed Done Dirt Cheap

Here's the quote from the FAQ:

DDDDC
Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap This is the opportunity for you to "tag" someone with a new cute, loving, silly title. (family friendly please!) This title remains for 7 days with the member... sometimes longer if we forget! DDDDC's have to be inputted manually and are placed by the admin when she receives a notice of payment from PayPal. So, they are usually placed within 24 hours of purchase (essentially the next time she gets online). Click the link for more info on how to DDDDC someone.

HTH!

40+2 but who counting?

DH starts his 9 month leave in 3 1/2 hours and I am sooooo happy about it. I still am not really feeling anything so I don't think the baby is coming tonight, but maybe I'll DTD to celebrate Dh being done work and see if that helps. Me and the kids ran some errands this morning, we got them half done before a poop emergency drove us home. I think we are going to walk to the library this afternoon if it's not raining, although I've given up on walking as a labour inducer, I think it's actually keeping my pelvis from getting to sore. I had a total meltdown yesterday, but other then being tired am feeling much better today. DH stayed up and cleaned last night so it was nice to wake up to a clean house, but I'm scared to hang my laundry in case it rains!

40 weeks today.

I had some good contractions last night, but they stopped. I'm actually kind of glad I didn't end up in the hosptal last night. I spent this morning in the vet with my dog. He's still there having all kinds of tests done to figure out why he's wheezing. I can't pick him up until between 3-5. Once things are settled with him, then I can have a baby!
