Spinners- whatcha spinning?

So? What's on your bobbins? Or your spindle?

I got some llama roving from a local farmers market (from a llama named Lavender) on my new light-weight spindle I made. I'm hoping it plys up between lace weight and fingering weight. I have some merino I dyed with Kool-aid to a orangey-yellow mix on my heavier spindle. It should come out roughly worsted weight.

You?

I'm spinning a whole fleece Its a manx loghtan, so quite small, and a pretty colour, and I'm spinning it in the grease to cut down on prep time. It's going quite well, considering It's definitely going to work out at worsted-weight or even thicker once I ply it, I think.
I have some pretty natural-dyed roving on another bobbin as well, which I'm spinning for Endpaper Mitts.

Still finishing up my ball of merino I've had for at least a year now. <<shoot me now>> I went on a spinning marathon there for a bit after watching some youtube videos. What a huge difference in terms of finished product! I am so thrilled to have had the ephiany to do a search there. I'm getting longer draws, more consistent thickness. I would feel comfy spinning all this up as a 1 ply now whereas before I would always do a 2 ply.

We just moved so I haven't been able to/in the mood to spin (we aren't in our house yet) but that's ok. My mom has a GORGEOUS wheel she's going to bring over once we get settled and let me go to town. I'm avoiding the rest of the merino until then so I can just get it all said and done on that. 10 oz. is a lot to do on a drop spindle (that maxes out at maybe 1.5 ounces).

DH is in our former house getting the rest of our stuff and he just called to tell me he was tossing the fleece I got a few years back. I've slowly been working on it (using it mostly for toy stuffing) and I told him the wrath of me would so not be worth it. Once it gets here I'm going to wash up a batch (my mom really likes that part so I'll get her help) and get to working on it. It's HUGE. I got it off freecycle. Debris and all.

I remember that fleece of yours FWIW, one of mine I'm drum carding and sticking up on etsy, and I got rid of half of my other through the UKarma group on ravelry. I just needed the space so badly, and fleeces are so cheap.

On my spindle: baby camel in a nice soft natural tan color. This one is going slowly.

On my wheel: working my way through assorted colors of Brown Sheep superwash roving to make an afghan for my dd#1. She picked the colors and I am gradually putting it together. About half of the yarn is spun and about 1/3 of the afghan blocks are crocheted. This is the biggest project I have ever attempted from handspun.
