Overdyeing

I have never had to overdye in the past several years I've been dyeing yarn & roving. I do usually do BFL but for some reason half of this last batch of wool did NOT work. My brown turned purple to say the least (Jacquard chestnut).

Anyone overdye yellow-pink-brown-green-blue in anything before? Tips on how to do so or good dyes to use to mute it down and make it earthy? I can have only so many candy colored soakers around here!

Try a dark blue. That's what I did with my last batch of Starburst-colored Ooops yarn.

It's the far right ball in the top on this page.

You can see it knitted up here

THe skein in the front here was another overdye, this time with a lighter blue.

That looks gorgeous! Thanks! I will have to try later. I am on a 4 day roving dyeing extravaganza and I'll toss it in when I get to it!
