Read:
Birthing from within - wasn't my style, but the info was pretty good. It was very spiritual in nature
The Pregnancy Book by Dr. Sears - Highly recommend... I loved the stories and it was empowering. Of course, it was pretty old (the version I had)
Obstetric Mythes vs. Research Realities by Henci Goer - My FAV book so far. I learned so much from it.
Gentle Birth Choices by Henci Goer - Also great, but repeats much of ^ If you don't like really technical books, I'd recommend this one over the other.
Exercising through your pregnancy by James Clapp - GREAT book, lots of good info, and research based. This is a close 2nd to OMvRR.

*Birthing from Within: Great book. I highly recommend it.
*What to Expect when You're Expecting: should be called what to worry about when you're expecting
*Your pregnancy week by week: what to worry about week by week
*The Pregnany Book: pretty good
*The Baby Book: Great parenting book
*The happiest baby on the block: great book for soothing a newborn
*The happiest toddler on the block: stupid. Tells you to lock your toddler in his room at night.
*The No Cry Sleep Solution: did not help with my son's sleep issues at all

This time around I want to read The Thinking Woman's Guide to Childbirth. That's all that's really on my list right now.

What the pp's said, and for someone who's new to bfing, The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding is a MUST HAVE.

I'm not sure what I'll get to read this time. Something new. I think I'll choose something from the pp's list.

oh boy I read soooooo much my last pregnancy...I don't have that luxury of time this one around....

Spiritual Midwifery...I like this one...much more technical than the above though
What to expect - I won't ever recommend this to anyone
The Thinking women's guide to childbirth - LOVE IT!!!
The Baby Book -great resource...still refer to it occasionally, and always give it as a gift at baby shower...especially if mom is leaning toward mainstream...
The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding - Great resource
The Pregnancy book (Sears) - good - liked it much better than what to expect
I will add more later....

This time I will be re-reading Ina May's Guide to Childbirth and The Thinking Woman's Guide (and maybe one or two other new ones if I can find the time) I will be watching this list for recs....

Oh another great one that I LOVED is Three in a Bed (can't remember the author....but a great book!!)

My dh just read what I read...Henci Goer, maybe Marsden Wagner's Born in the USA. Most "dad" books are full of sports analogies and "do what the doctor says" type advice which doesn't help us at all...

I would really like to buy up all printed copies ever made of What to Expect and burn them. I think it is the worst pregnancy book ever. TBH, any super mainstream pregnancy book I find pretty horrible. The ones listed so far are much superior
