anyone have experience??? i'm still researching ways to raise dh's testosterone levels without using exogenos testosterone (shots, pills, pellets, or gel that would lower sperm count...)

I don't have any experience with this, but I wanted to add that I have read that clomid is used to treat male factor infertility. Has your DH's urologist said anything? Can you ask your RE?

Keep us posted. GL!

Dh's andrologist put him on clomid and some supplements, advising that there have been studies to show that it may up the numbers. When we went to our RE, he let us know that he did not agree with clomid helping for a couple of reasons. Most men's numbers fluctuate each month anyways, but his biggest point was that the studies that were done also showed that the group that didn't take clomid had the same upswing in their numbers.

Now, dh's problem was something he was born with, so getting his numbers up really is not very possible. Therefore, I didn't do any additional research into the studies that were done. I would recommend maybe searching the internet to see what you can find. We didn't keep up on the clomid after the first month because we had made our decision to go onto IVF, and the mood issue's that he was stuggling with put it at a point where it wasn't worth it. He did say, however, that he now better understands what I go through every month when AF rears her ugly head!!

Clomid CAN help numbers if your dh has low testosterone. My dh thought he did, and was on clomid for a month, only to find out that the urologist had run the wrong test, his testosterone was fine, and the clomid made it too high and killed off what few swimmers he had.

So, my one word of warning is to make sure you have a workup by either an endocrinologist or a urologist who is well versed in fertility, to make sure the right tests are done before trying the clomid.

But I know it can be successful in certain circumstances.
