acupuncture question

for those of you who have had it or are doing it now...

Just had my first session ever on Thursday night. It was relaxing and pretty much what I expected. What I am wondering is what points you get needled. I just got the ones a few inches above above my ankles and the ones between my thumbs amd forefingers. I guess those are the ones for inducing labor.

Second question: have you ever heard of getting electric stimulation of those points? (something the acupuncturist mentioned as a possible follow-up on Monday)

Third question: tell me some lovely success stories with this method of induction.

I really went not expecting to go into labor, but secretly wishing I would! It's been two days. Maybe I need more? Or maybe I just need to go back and get needles in the pressure points that help with patience!!! :

two on lower back, huh. I'll have to ask about that one. Maybe I didn't get that one done because I was sitting. Maybe I can lay on my side when I go back on MOnday.....if I haven't gone into labor, that is.

One of my doula friends is an acupuncturist. I had acupuncture with her to induce labor. The points sound right. Yes, electric stimulation is an option. I did it once...you don't feel a difference. Generally, it takes three visits for it to work. I had success with it...as have some of my doula clients. It is clinically proven to work!

I had the points mentioned plus one on each foot about an inch above the second and third toe, and also a point at the top of each shoulder (kind of close to the neck). I was already in labor so it wasn't for induction exactly, but to speed up what was already going on.
