I let myself be seduced by the pretty colors and bought the KnitPicks Harmony set... I have never loved knitting needles so much. : They're a delight to work with.

I have all of my grandma's knitting needles, including some fancy Brittany and Lantern Moons, but I strongly prefer to work on circulars, so I've barely touched them.

I absolutely love, Love, LOVE, my knitpicks options. I am probably the only knitter on the planet that does not like addi turbos. I have one, and the cable seems really rigid and not flexible at all. It is horrible for ML. I also have one HiyaHiya that I really like. I have a Denise set that I should get rid of b/c it hasn't seen any use since I got my options.

You know what I found out after I got them?

I found out that the "pushing" was happening for me because the clovers were so darn grabby with my yarn and I couldn't slide it off. The Harmony set isn't as slippery as the Options, so I still have a bit of drag (I think. I haven't tried the Options!) My fingertip is totally intact as I'm not pushing now that the yarn slides off.

I love the Harmony set. It was perfect for where I was with knitting. I even found out that cotton isn't horrible to knit with on this set!

ETA: I also learned to Magic Loop because of this set and not wanting to fork out more $$ for Harmony DPNs! Love the ML too!

Thanks, mama! What a great thread this is. I am making a list... :

Me too. I haven't used Knitpicks Options, but I like the non-pointiness of the Turbos. I'm a finger poker too.

When I make Sheepy Pants, I have to go from Addi Turbos (for the waist and body) to bamboo DPNs and it almost feels crippling

But I finally found the right size Turbos for the legs, they'll be on their way soon (I bought them from a coop mama, they were coop leftovers) :

That'll make three sets of Addi Turbos for me. I really have this ambitious idea that I'll someday have every size that I use in them and never have to use anything else

Seriously, I'd try a single pair of the the Knitpicks options and see what you think. I felt the exact same way you are describing before I tried them. Once I tried the options there was no turning back. I know cringe when I have to use my turbos for hats because the lack of pointiness is so much slower to knit with. It is so great now to be able to think about most projects with no wonder if I have the right size needles already.

Knit picks harmony options and fixed circular. I don't like metal at all.

I think you're right, I'm going to get a pair of each and see what I think. I don't want to invest in the whole interchangeable set until I know. I do seem to like metal better though...but who knows what I'll say after I try them.

Am I the only one here who uses Denises and is happy about that? Granted I haven't tried knitpicks- but why mess with a good thing?

I'm having such a hard time making a decision. I like what I have...but maybe I don't know any better. . I hope I can find someone local that can let me ty out their knitpicks. All the girls in my knitting class use clovers.

I really like the Knitpicks Options and Harmony needles. Metal and wood have their own place.

I like Addi Turbo Lace they are pointier than just Addi Turbos but the come in a very limited range. One of these days I hope to test out some Knitpicks Options or Harmonies to see if I want a set.
