I'm a Mama!

Rhaevyn Thirteen Milligan Seyler was born June 12th at 7:13pm weighed 9lbs 5oz and was 20 inches long. She came into this world via c-section, after a long labour. I haven't had time to write her birth story, she's quite high needs, I know all babies are high needs but I can't even put her down to go pee without her screaming and she's not too keen on the sling yet. I've never been more in love in my life, but for some reason I feel kind of bummed out too. I started taking my placenta pills yesterday though so I hope they work, I was totally shocked that I was allowed to keep my placenta, but they bagged it and put it in a bucket for my mom to take home for me.

Gotta go, she's crying again.. The bouncy seat only buys me 20 minutes a day..

Congratulations! Don't let yourself get too bummed out... talk to someone if you need to! I LOVE her name by the way!!!

Yay!!! Don't be bummed - you did what you needed to for your beautiful girl. I'm so glad everything worked out well for you and hope you're healing quickly. Congrats! Being a mom is the greatest!

congrats mama! I bet the placenta pills will help, its a big transition you went through, and those first few weeks are the hardest! My son was just like your lo. I could hardly put him down, and he didn't like the sling right away either. It will get better!:

Congratulations! I hope you find your spirits lifting soon.

Yay! Con gratulations!

Be easy on yourself. You have gone through a lot and did what you needed to do to bring your child into the world. I hope you start feeling better soon!

Congratulations!! I hope your emotions even out. Maybe it's a case of baby blues (I had it quite intensely from about Day 4 until Day 15 or so: lots of real sadness). Keep us posted.

Congrats mama! My first baby was very hard too...I completely understand. They do get better eventually. For us it was reflux, dairy/soy allergy and sensory issues. I recommend trying a stretchy wrap so you can do upright carries...some babies do a lot better with them (my DD included - she never liked a sling).

Congratulations Mama! My first babe was just like you describe. We basically nursed 24-7 but now he is a laid back 6 year old. It gets better!

Hey mama, congrats! I had a high needs one last time too. Read this article if you get the chance:

My doula gave it to me a few years ago now, and I swear this thinking saved my butt in the early weeks!

Thanks for the support Mamas! And thank you for that link, I'll be printing off a copy of that article for sure!

After sharing how I felt with Ken, things have been a bit easier, she's still fussy 24/7 but at least he understands somewhat of what I'm going through.

By the way, I'm taking 2 placenta pills a day, how many should I be taking?

Congrats on your little one!
I hope you are feeling better! I always have several weepy days postpartum, but things do lighten up and get better quickly. I'll be thinking of you!
