Fatty Cakes AIO help

I've made lots of FC fitted's but I'm having a hard time figuring out the elastic for FC AIO's. The pattern description doesn't seem very clear to me, and I've seen lots of different FC's where the elastic is done in a number of different ways but I just can't figure it out. I make DD AIO's primarily so is it similar to how those are made, what about turning and top stitching? Help me, please

i've always sewn my elastic in the seam allowance w/ the fattycakes pattern and turn and topstitch. I sew it on the pul side seam allowance so the elastic will roll in. i pretty much just make pockets though, but it should work the same

Okay this is what I thought, do you stretch the elastic and cut it before sewing? I will try this first with pockets for ease of turning.

i do stretch the elastic a few times, and then i tack it down at one starting point really good, then stretch as far as i can and use a 3 step zig zag on it. i'm lazy and don't cut it until its sewn all the way on--don't want to waste any!! i'm using polybraid for this. after turning, i also sew a casing around the elastic just since i like the way it looks--not necessary though! i'm gonna try my hand with lastin real soon though!

no prob! if you need any more help, you can go to the diapersewingdivas board here:

the creator of the fc pattern also runs this board. it has tons of helpful info!
