as for me, my temp today seemed to be cooperating more. I talked to DH about that book I was reading, and he helped put my mind at ease. I trust my RE too. And clomid does seem to be helping me, at least in terms of how many mature follicles I have. Now let's see if it actually helps me get pg. Oh, and I read online that clomid is used in normally ovulating women to increase their LP, which could be useful for me, since mine is usually 11 days. I'll let you guys know what happens at the RESOLVE meeting tonight.

I keep hearing about these amazingly inexpensive dollar store HPTs. Where do you get them? Which Dollar store? I went to the local Dollar General last night, and they had none! Zippo. But then again, they didn't have any bc either.

But there was a conditioning hair creme that my mother used to use back in the 70s. Go figure.

So is it Dollar tree? Family Dollar? 99 cent store?

Angi - dollar tree is where we get them. But I've found you can get them even cheaper on ebay! I just bought 25 for 11 including shipping and supposively they pick up 10miU! So we'll see how they work.

Congrats to Kiki! It's so nice to come here and see good news.

We had IUI yesterday. They confirmed that I had one big follicle (19.5) on Monday. I got my surge Monday morning and I took the shot then. We were supposed to have the IUI on Monday but couldn't do it then. We did one IUI today and we will do one tomorrow and then I have to come back on Thurs for US to make sure I really did release an egg. DH came with me into the room for the IUI. He said he should be present at the conception of all our children. I thought that was cute.

That is so sweet that your DH wanted to be there. How wonderful for you Glad your first IUI went well.

Can I just tell you guys how sweet you all are! I am SO GLAD I found this forum. I truly believe talking about all the rounds of drugs and shots and waiting with people who truly understood helped relax me enough to get me out of my head and...heehee..get pregnant. (I'm still in shock btw)

To answer your question blueyezz I've had 5 cycles of IUI's, 2 IUI's per cycle. 2 unmedicated, 2 clomid, and the last one (hopefully) was with injectables. 3 with the HCG trigger shot, and one with progesterone suppositories. Not a fun ride but I'm sure you all know that. We were one cycle away from IVF...it's amazing how things happen sometimes. (I'm sorry if that's more information that you bargained for)

Angi - GL with your IUI I hope it goes (or went if I'm on the wrong coast) well. Hopefully nothing like your caulking gun dream - which was hysterical btw.

DLT - good luck with your 2WW. I hope it goes quick and ends with great results!

biomama - that's what my RE told me about Clomid as well. My LP is only 11 days as well. The only reason clomid didn't work for me was because it made my lining waay too thin otherwise it did what it was supposed to by producing multiple follicles. I had 3 with the last round of Clomid I did as well. I'll be crossing my fingers for you that it does what it's supposed to. Have faith...

thanks Kiki. And I'm in the middle of the US (Texas) so the IUI will probably be on Thursday. Unless the pain I'm feeling in my side is mittleschmerz. Then it probably will be tomorrow (Wednesday)

Cori, as far as I know RESOLVE meetings are free, but I ended up not going to the RESOLVE meeting last night. A few things came up, including finding out my newly pg friend's fetus died. She is waiting for the m/c. It's pretty upsetting, and she is already baseline a bit depressed. She's the one I was about to tell about our IF struggles, but she told me that she was pg so I couldn't really say it after that. Now I don't know if the timing to tell her is worse or better. Obviously I'd wait a while anyway... she has to heal.

Eileen, that's great you get an u/s to see if you released the egg. my RE gave me the impression that it's not possible to see (or that it's really hard). i wish my clinic would do a post ovulation u/s.

biomama, i'm so sorry about your friend. have you told anyone about your fertility stuggles?

have any of you told people about IF struggles? i have been somewhat open about it. sometimes i'm glad i am and other times not so glad. one reason i'm glad i've been open is because whenever a friend or sibling gets pregnant (which is happening at a very fast rate) they are very respectful in telling me.

Step 1: Complete

Ok. First step is done. I had the transvaginal ultrasound today.
Everything is where is it supposed to be, and it's all there. That is good.
Anyway, the tech was wonderful. He had a sense of humor, too. When I apologized for the furry legs (I rarely shave), he said: "No problem. I didn't shave either". I think I'm in love.

Here are the results:

There are no polyps, blockages, or other abnormalities that he could see.

This month is the left ovary with a 21.6 mm follicle. The endometrium (sp?) is currently 9.9 (mm?). I get to give my self the Ovidrel shot between 7 and 9 tonight.

I've never given myself a shot, but there is a very nice instructional sheet and she showed me a few tips on doing it. So that should be good.

The IUI is scheduled fro Friday at 8:45 am.
