Just in case anyone was wondering, one of my friends sent me this:

The book I have is called Essential Oils Desk Reference. I looked up both Tea Tree and pregnancy and it appears to be safe. The oils that they say you should stay away from while pg are:

*basil
*calamus
*clary sage
*fennel
*hyssop
*nutmeg
*rosemary

*sage
*tansy
*tarragon

But...once
you go into labor both clary sage & fennel can be used in a blend to actually help with labor.

Does your book say anything about myrrh? I make my own mouthwash & I use tea tree oil, myrrh, peppermint (or spearmint) & orange oil in it.

Hi Jen, I was just going through the oldest threads on this board to "catch up" and this one jumped out at me.

I would not use TTO during pregnancy for a product or ingredient I use daily. I would think that if you're using it say, on a cut or something like that, rarely, then ok. This is based on an admittedly anecdotal write up in the NEJM from one practice I believe, where they had three boys come in with breasts developing. It was linked to products containing lavender and TTO, and resolved when they quit using them. It did lead to the NIH however, issuing a statement saying that it believes both lavender and TT EOs to be endocrine disruptors, particularly for boys.

See http://www.nih.gov/news/pr/jan2007/niehs-31.htm

Also the Skin Deep Database has this to say:
http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/ing...ngred06=703792

That database is a really great resource if you're unfamiliar.
