WWYK with a whole bunch of this funky yarn?

The owner of my favorite LYS, a friend and dear, funny girl, gifted me with six skeins of this virgin wool. (Here for those not on Ravelry.) It was not exactly something she would sell in her shop, she said, as she could not get the image of a roller rink carpet out of her mind when she looked at it, but might I find a use for it? Yes! I said confidently, taking the skeins, and thank you. I was sure the perfect project would present itself. I waited about a year, and then decided I was not doing my friend's gift justice. Apparently the perfect project needed an invitation.

So now I am soliciting ideas.

It is not very soft.

It looks like it might felt well.

When I imagine it knit into a sweater, I think of Bill Cosby, but I'm open to the possibility that someone else might have the perfect sweater pattern for it...

Thanks, mamas! All good ideas. I've been wanting to try out the Kitty Pi bed, so that might be something to start with.

And I really like the French market bag for a knitting bag! I have a lovely African basket, but it's big and non-compressible and doesn't travel well.

And a felted keys bowl would be a great project for any leftovers. (Cause with six skeins, I can do ALL these projects!!)

Oh, I may have to do the kitty pi bed - my mom is getting a cat (or two) to replace the much missed Smudge, gone to kitty heaven. That would be a great gift!
