How long were you on Dom?

Can anyone weigh in on how long they took Dom for and at what dosage? Also, did it affect your menstral cycle?

I've been on Dom for 11 months now with no side effects (other than the positive milky one...) and wondering how long others have kept it up. With DS, I did not take any Dom and started my cycle after 5 months, but this time I'm still cycle free at 11 months and wondering if the Dom has anything to do with it??

Probably! I am cycle free since I went on the dom when DS was 6 months old. We're still at it at 2.25 years. I started taking 3 tablets three times daily. I am now down to 2 tablets twice daily, as DS is needing less milk.

Anyone else?? I'm starting to think I should take a pregnancy test. DD eats almost all solid foods and only really nurses after her naps and at night. Is that enough to delay menstration?

I know there are more Dom users out there!!!

How long did you take Dom and did it suppress your cycle?

I only took Dom for about 6 or 8 weeks and then tapered off. But, with my DS2 I didn't get my cycle back until he was 2 (which coincided with night-weaning.) He was on tons of solids and other drinks by that time and only nursed at sleepy times but he nursed all night and I guess that was enough to keep the hormones in check.

I took it for 13 months and now, 2 months later, I still haven't had AF. Things started happening down there (fluid, cervical changes) once I went below 80mg.

Anything higher than 80mg will most likely suppress ovulation. I'll try to find that link...

I had already gotten AF back when I started taking it in December. (one big reason why I needed the domperidone!) I'm still taking it now (july) and only had 1 period in between then and now and that was when I tried weaning myself off of it. The weaning myself off of it was fine, but when AF returned it KILLED my supply once again. I'm back on it at 5 pills a day and I think that's enough to keep my periods at bay for now.
I also have no side effects (besides increased milk) with it so I don't mind taking it still.

I took it for 6 months. My period had already happened once just before starting the dom. It did not return again for 5 months after that--when I got down to only 3 pills a day. I know it was what kept my cycle at bay. I was certainly not ovulating when on higher doses.

That is so interesting! I had no idea that was a side effect of the Dom- a good one too! I'm so happy not to be dealing with my cycle!

Dom didn't do anything for my cycles. With E, I started AF at 10 weeks. I didn't start Dom until 6 mos and still got AF every month like clockwork. I took it for a year, so until 18 mos. This time around, AF came at 12 weeks, right around the time I started Dom. I haven't had another cycle yet to see what'll happen, but I'm fairly certain things will play out just like last time.

I've been taking it since April. I take 60 mg a day. It has affected my cycles but they haven't gone away completely. The first month my cycle jumped from 25 days to 47. We're TTC so I'm worried that it won't happen while on the Dom. I have about 175 pills left so I've drafted a schedule of dimishing from 6 pills a day to 1.... I worry though because the times I've just forgotten it I see plummets. It makes me worry if I can't produce on my own anymore - maybe my body has become dependant on it??
