Does anyone know of a pattern for a soaker/shortie for felting? I'd prefer to use my size 8 circs, but I could do a flat pattern. Does a felted soaker even work? Am I barking up the wrong tree? Is there a better idea for felting wool?

I knit a Curly Purly soaker for ds, and accidentally felted it. What a great accident. It is super strong and NEVER wicks moisture. I hardly even need to lanolize it anymore.
I don't know how well felting would work for shorties or longies, but it might; I know that the legs I knit for the Curly Purly soaker tend to be a little wide anyway, so the felting actually made them fitted but not too snug.

I'm working on a felted soaker for the book, but it's no where near ready for even a tester yet, LOL! You could probably size up a current pattern by doing the largest size on big needles (10.5 or so) and then carefully felting to make sure it doesn't get too small)

My mom felted me a few soakers, the wraps are the only ones that really work, the other ones are too stiff to fit well. You can use a wrap with a Snappi. Why are you wanting a felted one? Might be better for overnight/heavy wetters but I personally really love my unfelted ones. They fit more snuggly and work well enough, most of the time anyway ;-) My faves are shorties/longies with short rows in the butt (I just knit them in the round to size, knittinghelp.com has great info on how to add short rows), the Fern and Faerie free soaker pattern (although this knitted up larger than it was supposed to for me), and the Ottobre pattern (but the leg holes give me trouble on this pattern). I'm a beginner knitter and all of the above were easy enough for me, just in case you're new at this.
