I ideally wanted to try to learn to knit from knittinghelp.com (the videos make me soooo excited!), but I guess they offer free classes at my LYS and all I have to do is be there...no scheduled appointment. And food AND kids are allowed! 
: So I made my first purchase today. Keep in mind, the owner helped me find everything. I got Fiddlesticks Japanese Bamboo #10.5 needles. She also steered me to this yarn, although it looks like just pink, blue, and yellow IRL. It's really soft, and Alivia liked it. She wanted to have me start on a scarf, but I'm not really a scarf person. So we decided that I would start with a doll blanket. I'm going in tomorrow late morning to start!!!
