Happy Canada Day!

Hope all my Canadian neighbors are enjoying a great holiday !
The weather here is awful, and it has been all week. We may go out to see the fireworks tonight, but other than that it will be a quiet day. We finished renovating our basement apartment last night and we are exhausted!!
What are you doing for Canada Day??

YAY!!!! We're going to a big BBQ at my sister's place...pool, cold beer, great food. The kids and I have made a bundle of decorations to put up. They are SOOOO excited!!!

Happy Canada Day!!

Happy Canada Day to you too!

My plans for today are to survive. It's dh's first day back at work since our babies were born 2 weeks ago. So, I'm on my own with 4 dc's today - yikes! Dh may take ds and dd to the fireworks tonight.

Yay! My first plan for my day off was to go into labour and have a baby. But in the event that doesn't pan out for me, we're gonna go see Wall-E at the swanky new movie theatre downtown.

I would really have loved a Canada Day baby, though...

My youngest DD is having a playdate and then we are having dinner at the in-laws and then going to see the frieworks (if the rain holds out!).
Happy Canada Day!

We aren't doing anything special although we may decide at the last minute to check out the fireworks tonight. The weather has been brutally foggy and rainy here lately (but I'm not complaining because it kept my swelling nicely at bay) and just about an hour ago the sun made it's appearance and it's beautiful now. My lovely Canada Day gift is that my peonies are blooming today for the first time ever after I planted them a couple years ago.

I would also be happy with a Canada Day baby

Oh, and I'm missing my hometown (Ottawa) terribly today after watching the festivities on Parliament Hill, sniff sniff.

Happy Canada Day everyone!!!

It's beautiful here in Ottawa! We went for a nice drive and had lunch in a small town nearby. Tonight we plan on heading out to some fireworks, but overall a pretty low key day ... just what I need.

My mom was hoping I'd have the baby today, but no sign yet ...

Oh, me too!!! I grew up in Ottawa as well, and man how I miss Canada Day there. People definately don't do it up the same out here in Alberta. Even if you weren't going to brave the crowds downtown, everyone in Ottawa always seemed to be getting out and celebrating. Here it is really just another day. Oh well. I keep telling my DBF that he really needs to experience it himself one of these years.

I have been hoping to not have a Canada Day baby actually. Today is also my ex's birthday, and I think it would just weird me out. It is almost 6pm here and no signs of labour so I think I am safe!
