machine locked up

I was sewing the tabs on my fitteds(which I have done many times before) and my needle locked up. it is way down on the fabric. I am not sure what to do. I thought I would ask on here first. I will read my manual also- have to find it. I have a janome harmony machine. but it will not let me pull the knob to lift the needle-:

Try unscrewing the screw that holds your needle in place. Then you should be able to finagle (sp?) your needle out of the machine & out of your material. From there remove your fabric from the machine (don't be surprised if it's bound tight to the machine underneath by thread). Once everything is clear you should be able to lift the panel cover your bobbin area & see what is going on.

I hate it when the machine jams up - it just ruins my whole vibe.

I ended up fixing it- i tried to take the needle out first but it was pushed down too far. I ended up taking the bottom part off and the bobbin thread was caught up and that was the problem. I have made a prefold with it since and no problems. Thank goodness!
