I just placed a huge order with Joanns.com. Gotta love those free shipping coupons! I bought 80 yards of tulle for $48.:
I bought some dylon at JoAnns today, hope to dye some baby clothes and prefolds--
I finished knitting my first nest with 3 Robin's eggs. The yarn I used for the robin's eggs was wool yarn I dyed with Kool-Aid awhile back. Also I stuffed the eggs with bamboo fiber stuffing AND dried lavender (from Provence, France), so they are like lavender sachets!
LOVE LOVE LOVE this project! The 3 eggs symbolize my 3 children, held with tender loving care in the nest & cupped in my hands - check it out:
Did you make the pattern yourself? If not, care to share where the pattern came from
Bird's Nest Pin Cushion from Closely Knit: Handmade Gifts for the Ones You Love by Hannah Fettig. Her egg pattern wasn't working for me.
This is how I made the eggs:
1 kfb (6)
3 kfb, k (9)
5 kfb, k2 (12)
11 k2tog, k2 (9)
12 k1, k2tog (6)
13 k2tog (3)
cut yarn, pull through remaining 3 stitches.
I went and checked out the book on Amazon and it has the bird nest pattern there for all to see! CLick on the search inside and you can copy it down :
