Completely random and OT: I have a hankerin' for a tattoo

Dunno why this came up but suddenly, over a year after getting my first tat, I suddenly want another one. I guess it took me that long to forget how bloody painful it was! I used to be concerned about being able to hide it underneath my clothing, for when I worked in offices or in front of a classroom, but honestly, that doesn't matter to me anymore since I'm leaning once again towards running my own business. I've even started encouraging DH to get more work done...heheh.

I hear ya! I got my two tattoos 8 years ago, and have wanted a new one ever since... just don't know what! Dh has none, but just decided he wants to get our sons' names going down the back of his arms. One name on each arm. I know I want to get a tattoo that has something to do with my kids... but I know we're having one more kid, so I'd rather wait until I have them all....
A friend of ours has the time his daughter was born on his wrist. Just a simple 1:37 (or whatever time it was, can't remember exactly). Pretty cool. So I don't know what I'll get done, but I guess it'll be a while yet... But yes, they're kind of addicting.

My dad is in a motorcycle club and they put on a bike/tattoo show every Oct, I might try to save some money up and get some work done there (maybe discounted if my dad could pull that off?). I'd love to add to the mermaid on my arm but I'm not sure what, I thought about two fish since I have two kids, but I'm not sure it would really "go" with the way my mermaid is set up.

That's funny you mention that. I've never had a real inkling for a tat (although dh has always wanted me to get one, he has 2), but just a couple days before I had Llewellyn I got this notion that after he was born I would get my haircut and get a tattoo. Hmmm..maybe this means you are going into labor!

The pic is pretty terrible and I scabbed badly so the detail wasn't very clear, but it turned out nicely after a few weeks.

If you still want to do color for your next piece, you could extend the design onto your shoulder or back...I love pieces that carry through!
