Home made shampoo recipes?

I have had great success with just rinsing my hair in a dissolved baking soda solution, but now that I'm back at the gym I need a "deeper clean" after I get all sweaty.

I've been looking at a lot of recipes online and most of them call for glycerin. Isn't glycerin a by product of soap making? I didn't think it was all that natural of a product. Plus, something about putting that in my hair doesn't feel right. Has anyone used it? Does it feel really icky?

Would anyone like to share some recipes? (I bet there's tons on MDC, but without the search I'm sort of stuck asking again.)

I make a shampoo bar and would be happy to share the recipe with you if you make soap. But, I also use the following for a liquid shampoo: 1/2 c. Dr. Bronner's, 1 c. water, 1/4 t. olive oil. Some people use glycerin rather than the olive oil, but I use the oil. You may need to play with the proportions of soap to water and may even decrease the soap. My hair gets pretty grungy before I wash so I use a good amount of soap in the mix. Hope this helps! Oh yea, and I ALWAYS use an apple cider rinse with either of these shampoos. It returns the ph balance and works wonders.
