back Leo : :

I know. We are so excited. Can't wait to hear back from the lady. He must've been pretty hungry to let them get him and take him home. I saw tricycles in the driveway in the picture she sent (he was licking his paw and then just chilling in the garage). I hope the kiddos aren't sad when we come to get him. They've had him 15 days.

: Thanks Mamas for all the encouraging words. I don't know what I would do without your knowledge. Thanks for letting me vent.

Forestrymom-I am so sorry that your computer didn't come back. I was sooo lucky. I think I now have the files backed up in 3 different places. Took a peek at your album of your house going up....WOW the scenery is incredible. I can't imagine seeing that out my window everyday. What kind of carrier are you using with Waylon in the pic...it looks super comfy. RE my biting DD...you hit it on the head...I am fearful everytime I try to nurse her now and I know that has to affect my let-down. Thanks for the kind words.

Faliciagayle-Gorgeous pics. Chaya is beautiful. Thanks for the link for the Mother Milk Tea....I have tried quite a few, but I am always open to trying another....whatever works.

Heather-you are right...when Lucy first started biting I wasn't paying attention to her when she was nursing....just kind of going thru the motions. She doesn't bite in the morning when she is just waking up and we are all snuggly in bed so I am hopeful that we can spread that out through the day.

Katie- We do U!! I think you would make a wonderful GA.

Ishy- I "pea face" is priceless. My Lucy makes that face for strawberries...she does not like strawberries one bit.

Sunshine-:: Leo : Welcome home Leo!!

So all I have gotten Lucy to do is nurse in the morning when she wakes up, but that is a start...we will see.

I sooo have something to say to everyone but my brain is sooo fixed on kitty kitty.....

I'll be back in the morning prolly. I have some time tomorrow. It's the opening day of the state fair so I think we will head down if it isn't crazy hot. We have 2ish weeks to go so.....

It's funny...I handled this crazy heat and humidity WAY better when I was pregnant. I'm miserable now but miserable with a cat coming home so that helps.

No word on the job front. I think she's crazy not to hire me.

and to everyone!!!!!

::::: yay Leo!!!!!!!!

good kitty!

Falicia, amazing pictures! I'm so in awe of people who can pull off Renn Fest costumes and such. I adore looking at them but have NO skill in trying to create one! (And around here, even in October when the Rennaisance Faire is, it's Way. Too. Hot. for all of that costume!)

Ishy, great pics! The pea face is too funny!

Sunshine, hooray!! : : So glad he's found!! My kitty's been gone for six years, and I still miss her. So glad you won't have to miss Leo any longer! :

Was reading a thread in TAO about CPS and dirty houses... I am dead tired (haven't slept yet) but feel like I oughta stay up cleaning - finishing half-done things like emptying the dishwasher and putting away the laundry so I can get the rest off the floor and into the washer... So for now I've made a list of things to do tomorrow and am going to try to get some sleep. Why is it I can't get myself to bed when I have long, tiring days?
:yawning: what a crappy night of sleep last night :yawning: jamison was really tossy turny and wanted a nipple in her mouth all.night.long. :yawning:

we started swim lessons yesterday. ds and our friend are in level 2, and they are the only ones in there:: i'm so happy about that. they are both seven years old, and it's their first time in lessons, so i'm glad it's just them and the teacher. dd1 and our other friend are in level 1. it's a bigger class - maybe 8 kids and 2 teachers. this is supposed to be the beginning class, but they had the kids swim across the pool with a floaty-noodle, and jump in from the edge, on the first day! dd1 was scared. the other kids are more advanced than dd1, but since this is the beginning class, shouldn't they slow it down for her? she got out and came over to the wading pool, where i was. what would they do if i wasn't there? just let her decide what she's going to do? we're going to try it again today, and if they're not more accomodating of her (in)abilities, I'm going to talk to the grown-ups in the park and rec office. i'm really disappointed. the time is so convenient, because they have level 2 and level 1 at the same time, and the parent/tot class that Jamison and i are in (for something to do, i don't expect her to "learn" anything). anyway, we'll see how it goes today, and go from there. am i wrong to expect the beginning class to slow down for her? tell me if i'm being unreasonable.

Jeanine - I'm sorry to hear about the swim lessons, that doesn't make sense that they would have the children do all of that on the first day. Regardless of skill level if it's a level 1 class they should start out with the basics in order to find out who needs practice in what areas, I can't imagine that every child is able to do everything correctly so that would give them an opportunity to correct anything and make it a safer experience. I think you are absolutely right in bringing it up with the adults.

HeatherB - I read the same thread, but then all I have to do is compare my house to my mom's house and I know I'm fine It's messy, but it's not a health code violation, can't expect much more when you have kids destroying it the second it's clean.

SweetTexasgal - It really sounds like a strike to me. Usually early in the morning your prolactin levels are highest and the milk let's down easiest, so that's a good time to encourage nursing. Plus the sleepiness factor has them relaxed. I hope she's back to nursing again soon!

No phone call or email yet, I expected to hear by now since it's been almost a week but nothing yet. It can't be that hard to look up in a computer which posts need a MI 2LT and then call somebody. Ugh. I have my business blog up and running although it still needs some tweaking and pictures (see signature). Liam did something to our camera so it's not zooming in and out correctly, we're planning to buy a new one at some point so I can get some good pictures.

Liam was outside walking around in the courtyard yesterday and my neighbor and her 20 month old were out as well. Liam would walk over to her and she would get a huge grin and do her penguin waddle walk to him. He would point at her or touch her chest and then turn around and walk away and she would look SOOOO sad. She's 2 inches taller than him but they're about the same size.....hard to believe.

Holy Moly! I think I am staying caught up and then I come here and there are two pages of new posts.

Sunshine ~ I am so happy for you! It is great that Leo has been found. You needed a break.

Falicia ~ Love the ren fair shots. She is just adorable and you look great!

Ishy ~ I love the pea face!

Alyrie ~ Welcome back!

Katie ~ I sure hope you find out soon where you are going! How frustrating.

Jeanine ~ I hope the swimming thing goes better. I think it is stupid to have it like that. I was in a beginning class when I was young and went under the water several times because they made us swim the whole pool on the first day. It was so scary.

SweetTexas ~ Have you considered domperidone? Pm me if you want information about it. I hope this strike ends quickly.

The CPS thread actually made me feel better. I clicked on one of the rating links and found out that my house isn't as bad as I think.

I gained a bunch of weight over the weekend and now I am feeling much more committed about losing it. : I really need to make some major changes in my life but just don't have the energy for it.

36 more days until Eavan goes to school. But who's counting?

Dahlia fell and made her mouth bleed this morning. She still isn't sleeping great. She has started saying something new which is just too cute. She says "Wow wow!" We have been calling her wubzy.

Jeanine-You are not overreacting. The whole purpose of swim lessons is to teach skills and confidence around the water. The last thing you need is it fostering fear. Definately talk to someone.

Katie-congrats on the business blog. I can't wait to see samples. My sister is TTC her second and she wants to cloth diaper this time around...so I will be shopping for her as soon as she gets a BFP. I think it is a nursing strike too....I am hopeful.

We're on the more sleepless end of the spectrum today because Ruby is teething & nursing for comfort, occasionally sinking her teeth in PLUS she's really excited about her new mobility & can't nurse laying down w/out trying to crawl & take the whole thing to go. I feel like I'm nursing a puppy.

Off to look for this thread on TAO...

Oh, my dear, I feel the same way. Nursing gymnastics.

No one ever told me.

Sunshine: : I am so thrilled for your family and for Leo getting you back. I hope that he adjusts to your new home easily.:::

ishy: Lucy looks so funny! Aili makes that same face for peas, but then she spits them out. Its the first food that she doesn't like.

How far is the fair in OH from Buffalo? Is it better than Sterling?

Faliciagayle: That pic of you and Chaya is so pretty.

Vampire baby: Aili like to stay up very late recently, take long naps during the day, and bite shoulders, knees, fingers. Fortunately, she very seldom chomps the nipple.

Walking: Aili will now walk holding just one hand.

All right, there were more people that I wanted to respond to, but my memory certainly isn't what it used to be, so I'll catch up with everyone else later. I hope that you all have a beautiful day.

Here too, I call it acrobatic nursing.

We've had more bad nights recently. I can see three more teeth on the bottom making their way up (canines on both sides and what must be a molar on one side), she won't let me look a whole lot though, so I'm guessing that's a big part of the problem. Last night, she'd drift off and unlatch, then suddenly roll onto her hands and knees and crawl across me. She usually does that when she wants the other side, so I kept rolling back and forth every 10 minutes--then realized what she was trying to do was sleep draped across me! I think she just needed some extra comfort because of the teething pain, poor little muffin. I managed to get her sort of snuggled up on my shoulder so I could be on my side instead of my back and slept for a while that way, but when she wanted to be draped across my chest while I was on my back, I was only able to doze here and there for most of the early morning. I just want these next teeth to come in and then give us a break until 2 year molars! Halfway there, I guess, if 4 canines and 4 first year molars are next.

Lucy doesn't *love* carrots, but peas are the first to always get that face as a reaction! Carrots she just won't eat a ton of.

That faire (GLMF) is about 2.5 hours from here, and right off the 90. Sterling always takes us FOREVER to get to, or at least feels that way because you get off the 90 and then have to go through all those cute little towns. This one had significantly fewer people than Sterling so it was less crowded, we were actually able to sit and watch a couple shows and the joust that we happened upon right as they were starting, instead of having to try to get a seat well in advance like Sterling. Tickets for GLMF were cheaper (we got advance sale price of $15.95 each), food was cheaper but not as much variety as Sterling. I the food at Sterling! Overall though, we liked GLMF better. I had wanted to do both of those faires and Pittsburgh this year but I don't think we can afford to go to Sterling before it closes and since we have to take a trip to DC in October, we'll be missing Pittsburgh too.

Are you going to Sterling this season? Maybe next year we can go the same day, it's always more fun when you know people!

Same thing happened to me when I was that age. I am also very cautious and shy and hate feeling like I'm in "last place" so it totally messed me up. I still to this day am a horrible swimmer, and have a bit of anxiety about it. The lessons ended when they were teaching us to swim in the deep end and jumping off the diving board. One of the coaches was in the water, and I asked him to promise to catch me. He promised, and I was still hesitating on the edge when the other coach came up behind me and tossed me in. The coach in the water did not catch me....I dogpaddled to the side, ran to my dad (who I am very proud to say did not punch them though I know he wanted to) and we left. It was very traumatic even though I was totally fine. I came up fine, I swam fine, but they broke that trust, and thats not fine:

We have acrobatic nursing here too. He likes to stand up and bend over while nursing or get in the crawling position and try to nurse. It is quite picture-worthy.
so, today at swim lessons, my seven year old, who can dog paddle like 5 feet max, jumped into water that was 11 1/2 feet deep . i do not think that's appropriate for someone who *can't swim*. so i called "them" this afternoon and they totally poo-pooed me. well, not totally, the head lifeguard is going to chat with the instructor and have him adjust his lesson plan - focus more on swimming (ya think?) (luckily it's just ds and our friend in that class, and her mom is totally on board with me, so they don't have much of a choice but to change it. ) but they were full of justifications for why they do it (they don't want them to be scared of the deep end (ummm, when you can't swim it's *good* to be scared of the deep end.) they've *always* done it this way. oh, and my favorites "your son was fine" and "we haven't really had any problem with drowning i'm ok with them jumping into the 5 foot part of the pool - it's still over their head, but at least the instructor can touch there. they told me the lifeguards are trained to tread water and catch the kids in the deep end - but ds gave him a bloody nose (). anyway, we'll see how tomorrow goes.
