: yay Leo!!!!!!!!
:
: So glad he's found!! My kitty's been gone for six years, and I still miss her. So glad you won't have to miss Leo any longer!
:
Why is it I can't get myself to bed when I have long, tiring days?
:
: i'm so happy about that. they are both seven years old, and it's their first time in lessons, so i'm glad it's just them and the teacher. dd1 and our other friend are in level 1. it's a bigger class - maybe 8 kids and 2 teachers. this is supposed to be the beginning class, but they had the kids swim across the pool with a floaty-noodle, and jump in from the edge, on the first day! dd1 was scared. the other kids are more advanced than dd1, but since this is the beginning class, shouldn't they slow it down for her? she got out and came over to the wading pool, where i was. what would they do if i wasn't there? just let her decide what she's going to do? we're going to try it again today, and if they're not more accomodating of her (in)abilities, I'm going to talk to the grown-ups in the park and rec office. i'm really disappointed. the time is so convenient, because they have level 2 and level 1 at the same time, and the parent/tot class that Jamison and i are in (for something to do, i don't expect her to "learn" anything). anyway, we'll see how it goes today, and go from there. am i wrong to expect the beginning class to slow down for her? tell me if i'm being unreasonable.
It's messy, but it's not a health code violation, can't expect much more when you have kids destroying it the second it's clean.

: I really need to make some major changes in my life but just don't have the energy for it.
She still isn't sleeping great. She has started saying something new which is just too cute. She says "Wow wow!" We have been calling her wubzy.
I feel like I'm nursing a puppy.
|
We're on the more sleepless end of the spectrum today because Ruby is teething & nursing for comfort, occasionally sinking her teeth in PLUS she's really excited about her new mobility & can't nurse laying down w/out trying to crawl & take the whole thing to go.
I feel like I'm nursing a puppy. |

: I am so thrilled for your family and for Leo getting you back. I hope that he adjusts to your new home easily.

![]() Oh, my dear, I feel the same way. Nursing gymnastics. No one ever told me. |

ishy: Lucy looks so funny! Aili makes that same face for peas, but then she spits them out. Its the first food that she doesn't like.
How far is the fair in OH from Buffalo? Is it better than Sterling? |
the food at Sterling! Overall though, we liked GLMF better. I had wanted to do both of those faires and Pittsburgh this year but I don't think we can afford to go to Sterling before it closes and since we have to take a trip to DC in October, we'll be missing Pittsburgh too.

. i do not think that's appropriate for someone who *can't swim*. so i called "them" this afternoon and they totally poo-pooed me. well, not totally, the head lifeguard is going to chat with the instructor and have him adjust his lesson plan - focus more on swimming (ya think?) (luckily it's just ds and our friend in that class, and her mom is totally on board with me, so they don't have much of a choice but to change it. ) but they were full of justifications for why they do it (they don't want them to be scared of the deep end (ummm, when you can't swim it's *good* to be scared of the deep end.) they've *always* done it this way.
oh, and my favorites "your son was fine" and "we haven't really had any problem with drowning
i'm ok with them jumping into the 5 foot part of the pool - it's still over their head, but at least the instructor can touch there. they told me the lifeguards are trained to tread water and catch the kids in the deep end - but ds gave him a bloody nose (
). anyway, we'll see how tomorrow goes.
