Me too, MB. I was just about to cry a few minutes ago when I thought about it. Now my weekend has been filled with crappy stuff: nephew's very hot outside, redneck bday party full of people smoking and dinner with my in-laws and as an added bonus-MIL's mother (who is worse than MIL) : I really seriously may run away to OH this weekend. I'm not sure that I could actually camp by myself with 3 kids, but at this point I SO want to try.

Zumba done today. Today is the first day I've really felt normal since the P'tree. I think I may have had some sort of heat related something.

Okay I need some help running mamas.

And it's actually running related.

My dear friend jgmommo and my running partner, babysitter's daughter are holding strong or even speeding up. Me on the other hand, I seem to be slowing down. I'm struggling to maintain a 10 min mile pace when a 9:20 pace just a few months ago was pretty easy. I can't figure out why I'm so slow and my heart rate shows that I'm working too hard too. Any thoughts?

have you looked into what i believe is called periodic training? i believe it's a theory of training that says that your body can't just go faster and harder non-stop, you need to intersperse that sort of training with periodic weeks of taking it easy and not pushing yourself to make gains. google it and see if you can find better info. maybe your body is telling you something. a friend of mine was using that method to get better at rock climbing, and it made a lot of sense to me.

i rode 7 miles tonight on my 1967 cruiser bike with a friend, wearing flip-flops. it was flat, but i only have one gear so it at least got my heart rate somewhat elevated and was nice to get out and join the evening.

BBM, this is actually how I train for triathlons. Basically, 4 weeks of building in intensity/endurance, and then backing off for a week, followed by another 4 week build. The recovery week helps your body to get faster during each build phase.

Well, DS and DD returned from the Indiana cup stacking championships as the conquering heros! Both won first place in all three divisions in their agegroups, plus DS won second in the relay and third with DH in the pairs event. I'm so proud of both my kids !

I swam 2500m this morning and it felt great! I "think" I am getting faster in the pool, although I need to do another 500m timed trial to see if what I feel and what is real are the same .

Tomorrow, a short warmup run and another swim are scheduled. Seven weeks until my Oly tri ~ gulp!!!!!

I don't really have time but wanted to say,
P'seed : to the NO DAIRY and no beef. It isn't the lactose it's the protein so that means the beef also is culpable.
It's good to hear from you. How sweet of your dh to sign you up for a race?

I'll help you out Plady! Go here and watch the kid in the video. He's the world record holder. DS did the same cycle in 13.03 sec.

What will they think of next?
I always see the cup-stacking championships on the news since it's here in town. It's totally crazy, kind of silly, and amazing all at the same time! How cool that your kids are champs! WTG!

Does that mean you're going to be heading out my way and I might get yet ANOTHER dingo meet-up? : :

I see that now. LOL. Ah well.

Poppy I was just thinking about you, wondering what was going on job wise. And last night I was sewing up a skirt I made from that pattern you mailed me last summer. It isn't done yet -- but the other one I made fits great! Edited to add -- I now see that you made another one recently as well.

Ok I had 8 gazillion personals but now they are all gone. poof, my brain is empty.

My plan to get up and run at 5 AM this morning fell through after DD woke up (second nite in a row) screaming and scared (nightmare maybe?) at 3 in the morning and it took an hour to get her back to sleep...

Sent DH off to North Carolina today for a job interview - I can't decide if I am excited at the prospect or scared at moving in the middle of the year (it would probably start in January) but : anyway

Poppy - that is so exciting about your move!!!

Jaygee - congrats to your champion cupstackers!!!

Now I want to get a set of cups... I have no idea if I have that kind of coordination or not.

Thanks, Eks!

It's actually Greensboro this time... It is so ironic - I turned down the Elon job bc DH didn't have any opportunities in the area at the time, and now this job is a possibility and they are so close.... I guess I could have taken it on a leap of faith, but you never know... we'll see...

We put our dog down this morning...he had a rough couple of days and was so not himself. Ugh. The kids took it okay...DD1 cried a lot and DD2 didn't cry at all (but she is 2, so I'm not sure she understood). They came to the vet's with us, though they weren't in the room when they actually gave him the shot.

Last time I ran was Sunday...all I remember is that it was hot. I am needing some new motivation or something...I love the way regular running makes me feel, but doing the actual running doesn't bring the joy it used to. I'm going to get my bike fixed and tuned up and start getting out there biking...I'm definitely more of a "natural" when it comes to biking and enjoy it. I just haven't gotten out there and done it.
