Questions for ED/ food sensitivities moms

2 Questions I could use help on (Sorry so long)

DH's cousin is getting married out-of-state next month. We are at the point of needing to send in the RSVP and at this point I just don't see how it is possible. I'm currently eliminating the top 8 allergens and so it is really impossible to eat out. Going to the wedding would mean a 2 day drive followed by an overnight in the hotel and a 2 day drive home. Not to mention the wedding itelf - dd is not invited to attend either the wedding or reception. Apparently the hotel is only a few blocks from the reception hall and FIL is willing to watch my kids but it would still involve walking back and forth to feed her (she nurses about every 2 hrs in the evenings) and finding something to eat myself.

I would really like to attend, but I just can't see how to do it. Any suggestions?

Also - I'm noticing a strange pattern to DD's stools. I work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and am home the other days. On Mondays (when dd drinks pumped milk from the previous Thursday) and on Tuesdays (when dd drinks Monday's milk) her stools seem to be almost normal the past few weeks (YEAH!!!) but on Wednesday we get a little more mucous. Thursday is like Wed - partially mucousy and maybe a little blood. Friday, Sat, and Sun are green mucousy diarrhea with blood and frequent.

I don't have any tradition to my eating habbits (like I always eat x on Tuesdays). The only thing I can think of is that something about drinking pumped milk makes her symptoms better than when its from the tap. I've explored the possibility of hindmilk/ formilk imbalance and the thing is: I don't have an oversupply (I really have just enough). When I try block feeding she gets frantic (I'm assuming b/c she's drained one side and is still hungry). She only nurses actively for a few minutes each side but when I pump after a feeding there really isn't anything left.

Thoughts?

Hi,

I've been on an ED for dd for almost a year now... First off, Ill recommend the yahoo group, foodlab - tons of great advice and experience there.

If you really want to go to the wedding, it's doable with coolers, kitchens and planning ahead - especially since you're driving.

Sorry, i don't have any ideas on the timing/pumping thing...

Like a PP I've been on an ED for almost a year and a TED for over six months. If it were me, I would skip the wedding. I agree, there is no way to eat out, close to nothing you will be able to eat at the wedding plus your child not being invited and needing to stay at the hotel? Just sounds way too hard with all those factors and needing to drive so much.

Interesting on the pumping and timing of reactions. I don't really pump, but wanted to offer another awesome resource. It is by far the best $25 I have spent in years. You can do a free membership first and upgrade later if you want. These are the food allergy and breastfeeding experts!

HTH!
