What's your favorite luxury yarn?

Hi - I am a new to knitting; so far I have made a few scarfs.

I have a non-sleeping baby, so I am not really up for complicated patterns. Just some mindless knitting to unwind!

I thought of splurgling on some luxury yarn for a scarf; something really soft and pretty.

What is your favorite?

It depends on what I am knitting. It isn't a luxury yarn so to speak but I love to knit with Cestari Fine or Superfine Merino. I am a big fan of the Family Pendragon colorways so I would probably buy something from them if I was knitting for me.

I just discovered NORO yarns and I think I'm in love! They are sooo beautiful and the colours blend so naturally and wonderfully together...now if I can just learn to knit properly!
My yarn collection is growing and I'm still just learning. I'm looking at the growing number of balls of yarn as motivation for all the wonderful projects I'll do...

The yummiest yarn i ever knit was HandMaiden Cashmere (you have to scroll through about halfway) Definitely not scarf amount (unless you wanted a reaallllly expensive scarf) but i knit this hat out of it. It was a simple pattern and soooo soft and delicious.

I love Lorna's lace "Lion and Lamb". The stuff is so soft and boy oh boy, just plain nice to knit with. I made a clapotis with it.

My advice ? - go to your lys and ask to see your local yarns. I know here in CO we have LOTS of alpaca - it's soft, it's local, you support your community all that.

And, of course, there's always ETSY

I love looking for yarn. That's half the fun!

One of my all-time favorite yarns is, and has been for some time, Blackberry Ridge merino. It's so soft and squishy, works up like a dream, and I love the colorways.
