Feedback on Mosaic Moon?

I've been looking at their lovely colorways and wonderful sounding fiber content. But I don't think I've ever spent that much on yarn before. I love me my PF and purewool. So, is it worth it? Will I get a gorgeous fo, or nasty pooling? I'm afraid of pooling.

What is it you wanted from MM? Why not try and get the same fibre but in a solid or semi-solid colourway?

Well, because the skeins of the multis are beautiful, and many fos are beautiful, but I'm not a fan of huge, irregular stripes and lightening bolts. I love the speckled look, but I have no idea how to tell what it's going to look like until the work is in progress.

Any yarn will pool if the circumstances are right (or, er..wrong, if you don't want it, LOL!) It's not an inherent "fault" or mistake in dyeing the yarn, it's just a factor of the circumference of whatever you're making. So, you could use a particular yarn for mittens and get the most amazingly beautiful FO. Youc an use the same yarn for a toddler sweater, and get a hideously pooling-filled mess. So, no one here can really tell you whether the yarn will pool or not - it's so dependent on the project and other factors (number of colors in the skein, how long each repeat of the colors are, etc)

in any case - I can assure you without a shadow of a doubt that Morwenna's dyeing is exquisite, and I've never, e ver seen a skein of yarn that she dyed that I didn't think was gorgeous

: to Theresa all the way. I have found that the main size of pants I knit, mediums, are lightening bolt striping riddled nightmares . If I do a small or a large I don't have to alternate skeins.

Yeah, I guess I knew that. I think I just wanted someone to say "Go buy some!", which I guess Teresa almost did. It really is beautiful, and I am dying to try bfl. Thanks ladies!

I love it. I had some of their Organic Sunny Days colorway I think that was name). I bought it off a mama here though so my price was less.

Here's a newborn pair (the trim is not MM). There are no short rows in there.
And a small (again trim is not MM)
And the back of them...those have increases AND short rows. Some pooling but I'm loking at them on DD2 right now and not bad at all.

They do pill. Not horribly (and not sure if it's because they are organic) though. It's a nice lovely yarn with some good yardage. I still had some left over even after doing those two pairs. Totally worth the price IMO.

Ha! I was just looking at your longies. They are so cute. I found them when I did a search on "mosaic moon fo."

Being organic shouldn't have anything to do with pilling, btw. Pilling is related to staple length and the softness of the yarn. Shorter staple and softer yarn = more pills.

Ahh yes I know but the organic is SOFT....softer than my non-organics (though I've never used MM's non-organic).

And I have been around the hyena scene for years. The quality is consistent!
She offers many different types- I have had some that pill a bit, some that never do.

I think her yarn is worth it.
