i was just curious what those of you who make these things use for labeling? i have just been using the mailing label part of our quickbooks program and then cutting them to the right size. i was just looking for something a little more professional looking. if anyone has any ideas, i'd be so grateful!! thanks a bunch!

My girlfriend & her DH have been doing these for years for gifts. They design the labels using Photoshop and either print them on mailing-type labels of different sizes to stitck on the packages, or, for soaps, just cut them out of paper and set them on top of the soap before wrapping in cellophane or other plastic wrap.

laser ink printer...

if you use a laser printer instead of an ink jet, then it won't smear immeadiately upon getting wet.

Plus use lots of packing tape to cover and seal the label in so it doesn't smear if / when it gets wet

Or tie your label on the neck of the bottle/jar so it can be removed etc...
