ok - so i went into a local store the other day to purchase more milk two, just in case i find i need it during this pregnancy - i asked the owner if she knew anyone that had used it - and she said no, but the testimonials on the website were great - so she asked if i had low supply and i said no, i am pregnant - and she was alll oh....well....that was my first clue - the product is specifically for pregnant nursing mothers...she didnt know that - so then she goes on to tell me that it doesnt work when people want to tandem an older child and a newborn (and i thought....hmmmmm....i have been tandeming for 2 1/2 years.....and i tried to explain that - but she was all - the make up of your milk wont be right.....your newborn wont get the healthy newborn milk or colostrum - and i said - ummm my milk changed over to colostrum and then went to baby milk....and she told me i should wean.....i told her that was not an option - bought the product and walked out of the store.....now....i have already nursed through a pregnancy and tandemed, so she did not scare me, just ticked me off - but she was giving misinformation out as if it were fact and i know if she had said those things to me when i was pg with dd i would have been devestated - so i would like to write her a letter....just telling her to check her facts etc....HELP!!! thanks!!

And giving people unsolicited medical advice could have legal ramifications. Perhaps you should simply enclose any literature you can find from the company regarding the particular product. She's unlikely to change her ways, but at least she can become more educated on a product she sells.

When I worked at a health food store they had STRICT policies on what we could and couldn't say to customers because of the laws regarding this kind of thing. I'd call the manager and let them know their employees are handing out medical advice when they shouldn't AND that it's WRONG.
