I have been adding the second skein after my short rows so I don't have to deal with the switch during the short row. When I alternate a skein first I cast on the first skein. So I knit with my first skein and then when I get x stitches in I add the second skein. I knit both skeins together at the same time on the first stitch, drop the first skein and then continue with the second. When I wrap around to that stitch I drop the second skein and pick up the first and continue trading them off like that. Is that the best way to do it? My only problem is when I pick up the second ball I seem to tighten the stitch so I have to be careful.
