Okay, so if your baby comes on the 4th AND you celebrate the US's Independence Day. What do you think would be the worst names to name the child? Any best name you would switch to should you give birth on the 4th?

My thought on worst:
Yankee Doodle Andy

Uncle Sam

We've been laughing about Sparky for a long time. My due date was today and I'm pretty sure I won't be having him before an hour from now!! So I'm hoping 4th of July or possibly the 5th.

How about Firecracker? Dud?

Ok I think "Dud" is a bad name in general.

I know someone who has a daughter Liberty and a son Benjamin- they weren't born in July though. and she isn't exactly super patriotic or anything- just liked the names. I kind of like them too! Lol, maybe they would be GOOD names to name your 4th of July babe.

dudley was a name...I suppose dud was actually a name...where as sparky i've only heard used when referring to a dog.

this thread is cute...its nice to see something light hearted rather than panicked, in pain, just birthed, hormonal etc. (not that we mind them...we love them)...

it just reminds me of something we talked about at 5 months, still comfortable and far enough away to not panic. haha.

I needed this thread. Since everyone of us that is still expecting has a chance for having an Independence Baby! :-)

But, then again, my daughter thinks it would be great, because Baby would have the entire country celebrating their birthday.

A great way to look at it.

Yeah, you guys do NOT disappoint! I knew we could come up with some more besides Yankee Doodle Andy!!!

And, just think all the July born babes, we can always alter the Yankee Doodle Dandee song by singing "Born on the 19th of July" or whatever.

Maybe we need some more fluff threads to entertain us a for a while. To keep our minds off contractions that excite & fool us and such.

PLEASE don't joke about this ...my husband just realized 2 days ago that i CANNOT have the baby today because the boy name he's chosen is Sam. So no pressure here at all!!!!!!! :

Sam is a good name any day of the year. I just noticed a baby Liberty was born to a June mama yesterday or today. That was supposed to be my name, because my mother was enamored with the nickname Libby. My dad ended up nixing it at the last minute.

Oh, you can have a Sam on the 4th, no problem! I hope for your sake you have him ASAP no matter what the date! It's just if you add "Uncle" to his first name slot & put Sam in the middle name spot!

Liberty Bell?

Star?

Liberty is a no go for us, we LIVE in Liberty. Not too far away from Independence. Really.

And Justice wouldn't fly either. DH is an attorney with attorney friends. It is bad enough that he would like to get a Supreme Court justice name in there somehow.

How about Betsy? Ross?
