Happy Independence Day to all American mamas!

Quickie update for moi:
Off to do a NST this morning. Will update later.

Did some nipple stim yesterday for a fair bit of time and managed to give myself my first monster contrax. Oi, it was a tough one; I couldn't even get up out of bed to move through it. It let up eventually so I kept doing the stim to see if I could make it happen again, which I could. After that, there were a few really mild, unnoticeable ones that happened on their own during walking and DTD. I had a bit of dried blood after DTD, and some general cramping during the night...So perhaps the sweep did start something.

Things have settled down again this morning, so I'm going to try to keep active throughout the day to see if more contrax show up.

Thanks again for all your support mamas. It's really one of the few things keeping me from going nuts these days, aside from DH's wonderful support. My parents are great, but their opinion is "just go with the flow and let the doctors tell you what's best; that way you won't be disappointed or frustrated". :

Wow, I did not know the nipple stim could be so effective!

I'm still waiting too. My guess is we're down to about 5 of us left. Maybe we'll have our own little firecracker today!

Another update

So I'm back from my NST. Just as I thought, bellybean is doing great. She hates the monitor so she gave it a few good kicks to prove she's doing well in there. Apparently I had a few good contrax during the monitoring, but I think it's because DH made me laugh hysterically and on the strip, it just looked like a crazy contraction. Fluid levels are awesome, weight estimated at 7 lbs 4 ounces...I'm actually glad we got to do the fluid test because the technician confirmed that our baby is in fact a girl (i was paranoid!), and we actually got to see her sweet chubby face.

The nurses were shocked that I was 41 wks and that my doctor "let" me go that long. As if the induction police is going to show up at my door and haul me away to the hospital.

Anyhow, I get to go back for another NST on Monday AND Wednesday, just to feed their paranoia. Fun huh?

I'm thinking of you all and sending you lots of love and labor vibes though :

41 weeks today and kind of freaking out right now. I just got back from my ultrasound and the weight estimate is 9lb 15oz. Ummm... I'm a tiny 5'0". I know these estimates can be off, but come on - a 10 pound baby coming out of me?! Yikes. Other than that, fluid levels, lung development and everything else are all excellent.

Thinking of all you other ladies who are in the same boat as me! Sending labour vibes....

HAM~ We're going for a NST today and I turned down the US becuase I don't want to know the sex and at this point it seems just silly to get one. I can't stand when people use the word "let" when reffering to professionals and me. I'm like they can "recomend" anything they want and I may or may not follow their advice but nobody is letting me do anything.

Pheonix~ Congrats, and you dodged the 4th of JUly bullet! We're Canadian and Dh is still worried about it

AFM~ I'm 41+2 and getting bored! It's hot here and I'm crabby. My house is full of people. My parents adn DH are renovating, MIL is watching the kdis, BIL is still staying here! I don't know how I'm suppost to have a baby in this chaos! But I shouldn't complain, it;s much better then being alone with the kids at this point. We're off for a NST this afternoon and then home for more waiting.

Wow...it makes me feel so...lonely! I thought that the DDC was originally somewhere around 60 mamas. How much do you want to bet that I end up being the last one left?!
