So hubby went to buy me some Calcium/Magnesium today. Both brands they had included zinc. Is this o.k.? Does every cal/mag supplement have zinc in it?

Just curious, what are you taking it for?

I do have a separate post about it, but the short version is this:

A good friend said she uses it when labor is well established. She uses a mega dose (which I at first wasn't too sure about) of 20 pills and then 5-6 every half hour after that. It's supposed to calm the tissues and mom and make labor more effective.

I had decided not to do it b/c I just couldn't find any info on mega doses like that, but yesterday I asked my doula friend about it. She said. "Oh, yes! That's exactly what you need, why didn't I think of it?" She said there were no side effects (nausea, constipation, diarhhea, etc.) I have had five kids and my last labor had this lower abdomen cramping that NEVER went away, even between contractions. My Dr. said it was an irritible uterus and can happens with lots of kids. I have already experienced it this pg. with BH CX and especially last night I had some good, regular CX most of the night and that stinging, crampy pain hurt like heck. I figure if the cal/mag can help relax and tone the uterus, it can't hurt my case.

But all we could find had 5 mg. of zinc in each capsule. So I need to check that out, first.
