I use a mix of raw shea butter and other oils (almond, apricot kernel, carrot seed essential oil, and others that I'm now forgetting...) on my face every morning. I don't bother to put it on my shoulders.

When I go outside for a bit of gardening, etc., I don't usually put on 'proper' sunscreen unless I know I'm going to be outside for a long time. Well, my face is a lot less tan than my shoulders and arms! My shoulders and arms aren't dark, but they're not as pale as they usually are I guess the shea mix is actually doing something useful for me in terms of avoiding too much sun. I'll start making it a habit to put it on my upper body too.

Here's my question: does anyone know if shea butter blocks just UVB (no sunburn), or does it also block UVA (no skin cancer)?

Thanks,
Aven
