Any Mediums/psychics wanna chat?

I am looking for other psychics and mediums to have discussions with. I am personally going through a lot in regards to this ability and am really looking to make some connections with others that share this gift.

This is NOT a debate thread nor a ask a psychic thread.

This is a place for those of us with the ability to talk to each other and share our experiences.

I'd like to start with brief intros and then if there is enough interest we'll continue on.

My name is Jamie. I believe I have had this gift all my life but honestly do not recall always having it. I know I have always sensed there was "more than meets the eye" though. I started experimenting and honing in on my psychic skills 10 years ago when I was 21. I have learned so much in the last 10 years and as of currently I have begun work as a medium. I have been asked to help find missing people. 1 man was found exactly where I said he would be. I am currently trying to find a missing elderly local woman. I use this ability everyday of my life now. I use it for myself, for my kids and family, as well as friends. I was giving readings to ppl when I was doing massage and Reiki sessions for the last 6 years as well. I feel I know a great deal, but I also feel there is still much to learn.

Hi Jamie, I'm Sage.

I've been able to see spirits my whole life, I just don't know how to communicate with them. They don't talk to me, but I can hear laughing, crying, etc.. just indirectly.
I want to learn how to fit 'me' into this gift, but I don't know how. I'm no good at meditation, my brain never shuts down long enough. I don't know anyone else like me, at least not in a way that I could have discussions about this.
So I'm here if you wanna bounce ideas off me. I get visions, but in my dreams. And usually I don't know what the heck to do with them.

Hi Sage! Thanks for responding. I had a feeling this wouldn't get much interest here but I thought I'd try. Why don't we take it further in PM's?

takebirthback,

I know you said it's not "ask the psychic" kind of thread, but I hope that meant as in "don't ask me to try to answer questions that require me using my gift".

Would you mind answering what did you do to help you develop the gift? I believe I have an ability to read Tarot cards, but it comes from understanding the cards, and some "fifth intuition" sense. I don't get visions, or hear voices. I just trust "a feeling" if you wish, and I wonder if I could develop it beyond the world of Tarot.

What did you do, and how did you do it to help you develop your skills?

Thanks to anyone who's willing to answer this question for me.

I feel this way, as well. I once heard what I've experienced described very well -- like a fuzzy radio station, where you can just hear the voices under a layer of static. I get very strong gut feelings that I've learned over the years to trust, as they're right a vast majority of the time. I'd love to expand on these things.

Oriole, I have this book, but I haven't read it yet. It gets good reviews on Amazon -- You Are Psychic: The Art of Clairvoyant Reading & Healing.

Oriole- I read a book on developing your psychic ability years ago and it was sort of the catalyst for me. I don't know exactly why, but I seem to remember always feeling that there was more than meets the eye. So I read the book and started practicing the suggestions in the book. I also began playing around with tarot and really had fun with it. Eventually I wanted more. I wanted real experience with real ppl. I wanted to learn from ppl that had been practicing for awhile and could teach me. So when I moved to Seattle years ago I found ppl and just learned from them. There are tons of metaphysical stores and such there and I found one that had some ppl that I got along with well and I learned a lot from them.
But I think the key thing to do is to learn to meditate. I know Sage that you said that is hard for you, but the key to really being able to hear spirits messages and guidance is to cut off all the static. It is so hard to do b/c there is TV and radio and ppl everywhere. There is rarely silence. And even if you get quiet time, your mind doesn't stop. So to really start to tune in I suggest taking meditation classes and learning how to stop the static. It becomes so much easier over time. I found meditation difficult at first too, but now I can just click into that zone pretty much any ol time.

The next step is to learn to trust. You have to throw out any preconcieved notions and a lot of what you've come to learn as right and trust that these messages and these feelings are real and they mean something. I found this way harder then learning to meditate. But it too, can be done.

You actually do have to practice using the ability. It really does take practice. It takes practice listening and trusting and then acting on it. It's taken many years of practice for me. But now it is second nature.

IMO, these are the starting points to developing your intuition.

Sage, I also wanted to respond to your thoughts on dreams. Dreams are very symbolic. And I know how hard they can be to understand, but one way to start is to keep a dream journal. I have done this at one point in my life and it was pretty amazing. Things really become clear and make sense when you can add it all together. Just keep a journal next to your bed and when you awake in the morning, before you do anything else, spend just a couple of minutes jotting down key words, phrases, emotions, symbols or whatever you got in your dream. If you can write about it more thoroughly then, do it. But if not, just jot down some stuff so you won't forget and try to get back to it asap to write more. It might not make sense but after awhile, say a month, go back and read through all the dreams. I would bet they are telling you a story about something in your life. Also, if you really write it down and reread it you will likely start to undertand what your symbols mean to you. That is the key to dream analogy. Dream books are fun and interesting but I don't know how accurate I think they are. I think there are some universal symbols but everyone is different. I really suggest dream journaling. and don't forget that if you wake up in the middle of the night and remember what you were dreaming, quick jot it down so you will remember in the morning. Dreams can be very important and that is how some ppl get their intuitions, sounds like you do.

Oriole, something I've noticed is that my abilities always seem to work better for complete strangers than they do for my own pressing questions, unless it's just a random flash of insight that comes to me unbidden. The more you care about the outcome, the harder it is to relax and get the information.

Nobody has ever been able to tell me exactly why that is, but most of my friends who have psychic abilities have the same experience.

My personal experience has been that in times of extreme stress it's more difficult for me to tune in. Right now I have to have an empty, quiet house to work, where when I was not under so much stress I could work with a house full of people, do readings on the Bart train, you name it. Meditation definitely helps and those psychic development exercises from books also will.

Yes, I have a journal. In it I write all the interesting bits I pick up. I was just reading back through my entries today!

I'm intuitive and mainly give messages to help people think about their life and the choices they make. I can do bits of other things too and I think that's related to being able to understand different areas of expertise.

Feel free to PM me if you'd like.

I'm naturally in tune with the organs of my body with a very developed third eye awareness. Like when I was pregnant the first time, I knew within a couple of days and I knew there was more than one baby.

I am pregnant again and my vision of what is going on in there is so incredible and specific that I only mention it in private to people I trust.... but my predictions are on the record and I am positive that I am correct.

Other than that... I can see entities in my third eye(and sometimes actually see them -- but they are more opalescent and translucent) and also communicate with them. I am thinking about getting a spirit board to facilitate the process -- it takes a long time to spell out things without it so I mainly keep it to yes or no questions or numbers.

Umm... that is all I'll say on that, because this is a public forum.

Hi, this is an interesting thread!

I have had foretelling dreams since I was a teenager. In the past few years, I've been reading tarot for friends. I was actually thinking about being a professional reader on a tarot/psychic line - have any of you actually done this? If so, what was the experience like?

I ask because a friend of mine did this a number of years ago, and it was a very negative experience for her. She felt that she was feeding off of people's vulnerability and desperation. I view my readings as vehicles for meditation/personal growth but wonder if the general public would want that interpretation. I had a friend that only wanted me to tell her what would happen. It was hard to get her to see that she had free will.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

I still do this, but I have to tell you it does get to be very negative.

In the old days, I used to work for one of the lines that advertised on TV, and I got the most interesting calls. It was a blast. That was back in the days when it was automatically billed to your phone bill and they gave you 5 free minutes, then if you stayed on the phone you were automatically billed at some ungodly rate like $4.99 a minute. The phones rang back to back and we made something like 10 to 20 cents a minute, but we stayed busy and it was fun.

Now, I work for several services where I get to set my own rate, but it's a whole new world. The services take 1/2 of what I earn, which means I have the choice of setting a low rate to keep the phones ringing, or charging a ridiculous amount to try to earn a living. Competition is stiff, so there are some UAVs who call other psychics and leave nasty ratings to try to hurt their business. One company has changed their site so that the people who have been there for years no longer come up on the first page of listings unless they pay extra to bid for the privilege. In the old days the top rated psychics were on the front page, now the highest bidders pay for the front page listings. People who come in brand new have a hard time gaining a foothold and building clientele, from what I've been told. I know between the economy and the bidding, my business dropped quite a bit when they instituted that system because I refuse to participate in the bidding war. I have also sold readings on ebay in the past with decent results. I know of a couple of readers who maintain a steady clientele on ebay.

With these new services I'd say 98% of the people who call are what I classify as the triangle people. That means within 20 seconds of answering the call, the question you're going to hear is when is he going to leave that bitch? That seriously chaps my @$$. I don't like talking to those people, I don't like the way it makes me feel, and I specify on my pages, yet I still get those calls.

The good part is, you can work whatever hours you want, in your jammies, from your couch, in front of your computer, from your cell phone if you want. I really miss the old days, though, despite the lousy rate of pay, I liked it much better then. It doesn't suck now, but it was just better psychically, for me then, without all the BS. If you're better at grounding yourself and protecting yourself from other people's energies than I am it may not bother you as much. I soak it up too much and sometimes it's just like being in a toxic office environment.

Wow, thanks for the reply, Bigeyes - that's alot to think about. You sound very grounded and practical to me! The company I was thinking about working for is called Psychics Needed (psychicsneeded.com). You have to submit your photo - did you have to do that, and if so, were you OK with it? Where did you get your training, or was it just very natural for you? And, how do you handle the triangle people? What do you tell them in a reading?

I got certified with Voyager Tarot - it was a wonderful correspondance course with James Wanless - a great experience. I agree with you that the first time I do a reading for someone, esp. if I don't know them, it is clearer than the subsequent times. I don't know why that is, except that perhaps I am not projecting what I know about their lives into the reading, so I'm not afraid of saying the wrong thing or something that might offend them, because I don't know what that would be!

Thanks for your help!
are they one that works with a webcam? I've never had to submit a photo before. I've had to do a test reading before, though.

I have one of Wanless's decks, that's cool!

I pretty much did my training as a trial by fire. I was hired as an independent contractor and if I didn't keep callers I would have been dumped. With the current companies they don't care if you get calls or not, or if you work once a week or once a month, it's totally up to you, but they also do absolutely nothing to drive business your way where the old companies did all the advertising and kept the phones ringing. They expected you to work when you said you would and they kept those phones ringing.

I handle the triangle people by telling them the truth. Sometimes they're cool about it, but most of the time they get snippy. I don't feel like it's my place to enable them when I make it perfectly clear that I don't like the energy I pick up from the situation to begin with. It feels almost like an assault, and I'm not going to lie. In very rare instances I have seen the marriages breaking up, and I've told them so, but in all the years I've done this, it's maybe been 3 times that I've seen the guy actually leaving the wife for the caller. I don't think it's judgmental, but rather a logical deduction to look at a situation where a man has been married for 15 years and dating someone for 10 and see that he isn't going to leave his wife. And when the psychic vibes back me up on that, I'm not going to sugar coat it and tell the woman to hang in there and wait, especially when she's calling the wife a bunch of names. Not cool.

I don't take many calls of that nature, but it's still probably 98% of the business that comes to the sites in my estimation. I probably get at least 1 or 2 a day, still. Sometimes I try to steer them in the direction of looking for more out of life, like why are you settling for this? But truly, I prefer not to speak to people in this situation because in my experience they are in a state of denial and nothing I can tell them is going to change a damn thing. They need to believe the wife is a horrible person and 'their' guy is a saint who is staying for some noble reason rather than just jerking them around. It irritates the crap out of me and throws me off, which doesn't help anyone. Let 'em call someone else who doesn't feel so strongly about it, yk?

I'm open to almost any other subject, I'm good with abuse victims or people who think someone close to them may have been abused, but people who have misplaced anger squick me out, and that seems to be a theme with the triangle people. I can feel it through the phone and I just want to get away from them. If I could get past that I could make a lot more money, but I honestly don't know if I want to.

Hi, I hope you don't mind my jumping in. I also have had a sixth sense in my life and a psychic connection with my brother. I started meditating in a group with a gifted facilitator and my abilities grew. I have had some premonitions that have come true, one of them being an accident my sister was in that almost took her husbands life. Crazy but not.

Anyways, I just wanted to say if you aren't meditating regularly and can fit in even a few minutes a day to start, it helps with the boundry/soaking energy stuff.

I have been interested in spiritual things since I was a child, though I didn't have many things I experienced as tangible occurrences myself.

During a huge battle with self-harm and depression, I experienced psychic incidences with my mother, we seemed to sense each other, and she actually was able to pick up a large overdose I took and saved myself. I thank her and the guardians that helped us do that, I am grateful to be here! I started to see things when people talked and sense things in general after that.

Now I know I am able to use my intuitive abilities and try to help people with them. I have started hearing from some people that have passed sometimes, they seem to be connected to friends I am close to that I read for.

During the past couple of years I started being able to read over the computer and phone and have had some odd, though positive, experiences just in daily life. I too, wish for some insight and experience from others to help me navigate these ever-changing and growing waters.

I seem to have a hard time letting go, I also have a hard time getting over my own doubts and insecurities, and so my control over it is not nearly what I would like it to be, to the degree you have control over it, I hope I am making some sense! Please pm me if you would like.

Yeah, I need to take more time to do that, it really does help A LOT!

Something weirdI've noticed, I don't soak up as much junk on one service where I read via text chat instead of over the phone. I don't know how that helps, but it seems to give me an extra bit of space. That service isn't as busy as the phone service and doesn't do daily deposits or I'd use it full time. I tend to make electronic stuff malfunction, so I was a little nervous about using text chat for readings, but usually I have no problems.

I wouldn't exactly call myself a medium or a psychic... or any other term but, in short: I have lucid dreams, I see, hear, feel full body apparitions of spirits at night and am beginning to hear and just a couple days ago see spirits during the day as well, I have seen spiritual figures manifest (only a couple times but, quite profound for me), I'm an empath both physical and emotional to the point that I actually suffer from medical conditions I don't actually have but rather someone close to me or around me has (which has been very hard for me and is pretty uncontrolled), I can see auras if I attempt but I'm currently unable to see all of the layers of color, I have phophetic dreams on occasion, and have visions both day and night and while asleep and awake (also pretty random and uncontrolled).

So basically I have experience with a lot of things in the rhelm you're askign about but little concrete advice as I've not yet wrapped my mind around my own mish mash of junk. But, I'd be glad to share experiences of mine and would gladdly read experiences of your's as well.

Also I started a thread over in "personal growth" awhile back that someone nicely opened up again. If you haven't located it as of yet heres a linky. reading experiences of others might just give you some ideas or commonality.
