Well, I won't be doing that again...

DH and I just DTD after a 4 weeks of nothing. I have not been in the mood and he has been a bit weirded out by how low her head is (the MW felt the head at 36 weeks with her finger), but I wanted to do it at least one more time before the baby comes (I for some reason thought it would connect DH and I even more than we have been) and everyone says that it can help encourage labor...

It sucked. I can't kiss him very well with this stupid belly in the way, I felt really insecure, and the actual deed hurt SO bad- worse than my first time...but I sort of expected all of that.

It was afterwards when DH said it was alright but he couldn't stand all the directions I was giving him. Are you kidding me??? Ok, so I asked him to not rub my belly (it was turning me off), asked him to give me a second to stack up some pillows halfway through, and sorry if this is TMI, but he was having a little bit of trouble line things up, so I had to direct him to the right place.

Really, at 40 weeks and 3 days, do you really want to go there DH????? :

Oooh honey, you have my sympathy! Everyone tells me that DTD will speed things up, but at this point I can barely sit, stand, kneel, waddle, squat... anything... without tremendous pain and causing a contraction - DTD just sounds like it will be a giant pita!

Our DH are just going to have to settle for cuddles, that's all!

It does suck, doesn't it? I basically forced my dh to have sex with me at least once a day with my DS at the very end, because I was so desperate. He said he felt violated and creepy... He said he could feel the baby's head... whatever. LOL. He asked me this time to "please don't make me have sex with you anymore"...

lol, we DTD last night but we talked about in depth beforehand and decided it had nothing to do with 'lovemaking' it was purely for baby-moving, so we laughed the whole way through, we also couldn't get things lined up, it took a several false starts and position adjustments... it was certainly not a wonderful experience

We have positional problems too... and all kinds of other problems. It's just too much effort for not enough out of it, so we find other means of pleasuring

See, I just wish I could have your troubles!

I know it really bothers you, and it would me too. But our season has been so dry that even a night like that would have been something to remember!

We have dtd maybe twice since I have been PG, and as desperate as I am for this baby to be born now, somehow going through that is just not on

doggie style works great late in pregnancy.

although I can't think of doggie style anymore without thinking of the movie Knocked Up when the guy asks the girl if she wants to try doggie style and she looks at him like he has 2 heads and says "No I don't want to have sex like a dog!"

See, we don't call it "doggie style." My husband christened that position....."Wild Kingdom." Isn't that better?

I'm glad we're not the only ones with "positional difficulties"!

I LOVE this thread! This was just the laugh I have so desperately needed!

We have been having lots of "medical sex" as we refer to it - largely for the hope of getting labor into gear. Fortunately, my DP doesn't at all mind being "used" as I basically just tell him to do it as fast as he can, because all I'm interested in is his prostaglandins I think he's just happy to have some action, since I've been so incredibly uncomfortable for so long. Now, I don't care how bad it hurts - I've been willing to do anything to try and get things going!

I'm also an advocate of the hands and knees position, with lots of pillows under my chest and belly.

I will say, that I have permanantly suspended the medical sex, as lately every time we have sex, I have hours of painful contractions that go nowhere except to get me all excited that labor is here and then devastated when it's not. So, for the next month plus, we'll be loving in more creative ways

mine is so turned off by actually dtd that he FAKED ORGASM the night before last to get me to stop...and thought i wouldn't notice that he wasn't actually finished. riiight... at least today he was honest about it- he's creeped out by the baby being right there, and the fact that i'm dilated enough that he really could bonk it in the head.

: Sounds like something my DH might try if he thought of it!

So, this was me last night ladies. I still am not sure if you would call them contractions, but I had painful BH, a ton of cramps, pressure, and felt constipated for hours (didn't expect that) and this morning I am back to normal- except I am really tired from getting no sleep.

I don't know if it was the deed or the fact that I did some major walking yesterday (which also left me super sore), but I am thinking if we DTD again this pregnancy, I will not do it before I go to bed a night.

Crap. Now I think I might be loosing my MP (which would be awesome), but am not sure since we DTD last night- maybe it is just left over semen?

April
This might sound crazy, but if you notice some more- maybe smell it? If it smells like semen- well, it's semen. If not, then it might be your plug.

Why not? At this point nothing is to TMI for me.

Thanks.
