vaxed kids/people carriers of disease?

Hi, I am currently not vaxing my child and may never plan to do so. I thought I only had to worry about him contracting a disease from someone who obviously had it, and then gave it to him i.e. whooping cough. but I have heard somewhere that vaxed people who do not have the disease could be carrying it and pass it on without anyone knowing?

if you have any info on this I would appreciate it, in regards to the validity of idea and how you deal with this in your own un-vaxed families.

Some vaccines do not prevent carriage and transmission- like pertussis (whooping cough)

Vaxed people can have it and pass it all around without the classic symptoms.

I don't worry about it. Pertussis is everywhere.

The Pertussis vaccine is only 70% effective, at best.

The MMR sheds because it is a virus.

The live polio vaccine (OPV) can be passed on to another person. In 1996, Money Magazine had an article about vaccine dangers and one of them was a case in which the mother caught polio from her infant DD's diaper in 1986 after her infant DD received the OPV. There is a picture of the mother in a wheelchair along side her ten year old DD.

So the only way to get polio in North America now is to get the vaccine or be next to a person who just received the vaccine.

I had to laugh at a poster at the VA hospital last Christmas that said, " Don't be a carrier, get your flu vax!" It makes no sense.
