What can kill mold??? The mold that is in the caulk around your tub? I have tried peroxide, lemon juice, charlie's soap, baking soda, etc. They just won't penetrate deep enough! Help! Thanks

I have not tried this, but maybe a paste made with baking soda, tea tree oil and water would do the trick?

What about vinegar? I think I saw something about vinegar getting rid of mold. HTH!

put a strip of cloth around the edge of the tub, soak it with vinegar and leave over night, worked for me

Ugh-I was just going to post this!

I noticed yesterday our tub is a mess. It's been several months since I quit using Clorox cleanup on it. I have mold in every corner, every caulked seam. I ordered some Basic H from Shaklee, so I'm hoping that might help. I don't know!

I have a corner in my bedroom that has a blackish looking mold. My dh still needs to get up there and take care of it, but I know he's going to want to use Clorox mold and mildew or bleach. Anything else I can get him to try first?

The orange mold around my tub goes away and comes back and I clean the tub with a baking soda, Dr. Bronners mix and then on other days just a spray of 50/50 vinegar. It still comes back.

It was even on the bottom of my cloth shower curtain and I washed it with detergent, baking soda, and vinegar in the downy ball on hot. Some of the spots came out, but some did not. Am I to assume that the spores are killed and that is just a "stain" or should I assume that there is still mold on the curtain? I bought the cloth one because I was using the pvc/nylon one and just throwing it away every 6 months or so. I wanted to be less wasteful and not get the pvc off gassing.

If vinegar doesn't work, you may need to remove the old caulking and redo it.

Bummer...it didn't work for me I think it took a tad off, but it's too deep in the caulk!

sounds like you need to rip out the caulk and recaulk the tub because if you're getting mold behind/in the caulk, it's probably getting water in it, which defeats the purpose. We've had to do that, then in the future it's much easier to keep it clean.

Grapefruit seed extract. Works wonders.

Use the vinegar full strength when you spray it on and let it set. If you do have it behind the caulk it would be better to replace b/c you will never be able to get it all.

I squirt it right on a sponge and rub it on wherever I need to sanitize. A couple hours later I scrub it gently.
