mexico's vaccine uptake is higher than the united states.
we're taking dd (totally unvaxed) to mexico next month.
honestly, the biggest health-related issues to be worried about are food/water safety, and sun exposure. the standard precautions apply: be careful with what you consume, and make sure you've got plenty of good sunblock!

(ps...by your doctor "recommending" those 3 vaccines, your child will actually get SEVEN!!! tetanus doesn't come alone so it would most likely be the dtap, and most doctor's offices don't routinely give monovalent measles, so it would be the mmr, plus the ipv. sounds like she was trying to do a little bait-and-switch there, unfortunately...)
