Anyone know anything about this midwife?

So I'm pregnant again. So I'm looking for a midwife. My last midwife unfortunately is in a different state and I've been having problems finding one in this area. This midwife I found is in Colorado Springs (I'm in Pueblo) but it says she's willing to travel up to 2 hours. I've read her site and she supports water birth, but she also provides ultrasounds. I'm torn.

Opinions? Experiences?
(Oh, and to prevent any possible defamation concerns, if it's a bad experience please PM me. Thanks!)

I have heard that Jessica Nipp is a wonderful midwife, even though I have never worked with her personally. You will also find that most of the midwives here in Colorado Springs are willing to travel down your way, depending on their client load around your due date. There is also Susie Trujillo in Canon City. I believe that she is currently working with an intern midwife who lives in Pueblo.

Thank you for your input. I haven't seen any info about Susie Trujillo, but I'll look for more. I emailed Jessica and her response seems nice. Now I just have to see when my DH and I can both ahve a day off together so we can meet her.

Jessica is my m/w and I absolutely lover her. So does my Dh, I haven't given birth yet, but I have complete confidence in her.:

We're chosen Jessica and now I'm just anxiously awaiting my first appointment. I was supposed to go tomorrow but for a couple reasons (money and work issues) I've had to reschedule for August 15th. My doctor's appointment was rescheduled for the day so I only have to miss work for one day. It seems so far away though!

I've known many women who worked with Jessica, and have only had rave reviews!

I've spoken to her and would recommend her too.

Hope you appointment/interview goes well!

We've already had the interview and it went quite well. She agreed to everything on my pregnancy plan (I will have a VERY hands off pregnancy). I'm just so anxious for my first actualy prenatal! I'm not very patient. LOL

I interviewed Jessica and I thought she was so nice. We've chosen a different midwife (Dotti Kirkpatrick) but Jessica was definitely my second choice! She is so nice, AND her office is really close to Whole Foods, LOL.

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Jessica is an amazing midwife! She helped me gain a confidence within myself I hadn't before. She was always postive, and even when I wanted to beat myself up about weight gain she wouldn't allow it. Overall I can't say enough good things about her!

I felt really good at the interview. She asked me what I normally gain during pregnancy and I told her I don't know. With DD1 I gained 3lbs, with DD2 I gained 50, so hard to tell what my normal is. She didn't have a problem at all with it. Just said we wouldn't even worry about weight as long as I was gaining from eating healthy. I like that view. I'm a big girl (very big) so a lot of providers get SO worried about it. She was just awesome about it.

Jessica was my midwife for my daughter born in Nov.2007. I was attempting an HBAC and she could not have been more supportive, encouraging, and caring. She gave me the best care I have ever recieved from any medical professional. My birth did not go as planned, unfortunately, and I ended up getting transferred for an emergency c-section ( not her fault), and she was calm and in control the whole time and she even stood up to a mean OB who was trying to give us crap while we were there ( because we were a homebirth transfer). She stayed through my whole c-section and until i was settled in my room and then came back to see me again a couple times during my stay to make sure I was nursing ok and to see how we were. During the pregnancy she was just amazing; it was like having a private prenatal massage therapist, dietician, psychologist, and herbalist at my disposal.
I cannot recommend her more highly.

Thanks. Unfortunately we're not going to be able to use her as we couldn't come up with the full deposit and she wasn't willing to work with us on an alternative plan. So my search continues.

we used Karen Robinson in Lafayette and she was amazing and wonderful, can't say enough good things about her :

I actually cried after my 6 week pp visit yesterday, sad that our "pregnancy relationship" was over... but super thankful that she hosts monthly gatherings for current and past clients

i just met susie today, here in crestone. she is fabulous. she is heart centered and real. please interview her, as i'm sure you will love her. she is very maternal (she has 7 kids and 29 grandkids), very experienced, very knowledgable and knows so much about creating balanced health all around. she trusts birth and seems like she would be very empowering to work with.
