Oh, perfect! We're moving into our new (small) house this week and I have requested the book through inter-library loan. I can't wait to do this with you all!

i just searched my libraries search engine (about 7 other libraries on the engine) and it laughed at me......uncontrollably. i guess i might have to look into purchasing it.

Thanks for the laugh . I am starting this week, today was nutso for me and continues to be, so I will update this tomorrow when I don't feel like passing out on the sofa. I'll start a new thread with a roll call tomorrow.

I got my book today! Yay!

So . . . for those who have the book-- are you more of a warm or a cool person? I am more warm, I think. DH is more of the cool sort. I think. But we are both kind of a mix, too.

I am definitely a mix of the two. I'm great with cleaning and clutter(warm) but not challenged by excessiveness. I want my home to be low maintenance(cool) and am good at making things comfortable. Good at avoiding clutter too (cool) and am a do it yourselfer as well. They equally apply to me.

I would say I am more warm because I'm not as good with cleaning, and if I don't actively avoid it, clutter builds up, definitely. But I am also a bit of a cool person because I enjoy a very clean, simple, uncluttered look, and strive for that, haha, although it doesn't happen for me naturally. I am fairly fearless about decluttering, although, again, it doesn't happen naturally. I am exactly halfway between introverted and extroverted.

DH doesn't tend to spend much time at home-- cool-- and he tends to collect tons of clutter and isn't great with staying tidy-- warm. Like me, he prefers the simple, uncluttered, streamlined look-- cool-- but he is also very outgoing and friendly and gregarious-- and that's warm.

I'm definitely a warm person. I"m cleaning my floors today and buying fresh flowers tomorrow at the farmer's market. Please post here if you're in and joining us! Even if you can't start this week, let me know and I'll include you in our roll call and where you're at. I know we're all mamas and busy so I am not going to beat myself up if I get a little behind, but I am going to try my hardest to get ahead! I can't wait to be on the other side of this 8 weeks .

Did anyone else love the biking through Italy story? That was my favorite and really struck a chord with me!

Hmm. Not sure about that one. I know they sell it through the AT website, I think that B&N varies their stock depending on location, I would call them.

Yeah, I'm not going to be able to do the whole 8 weeks as laid out. For one thing, I can't steam clean the living room carpet this week, so that will be next week (boy it needs it, I hate carpet). But the bigger problem is that we are moving out of here at the end of September, so I don't exactly want to sink money into things which would be peculiar to this apartment. I'd rather wait and get the next place all perfect.

But I DO want to fix this apartment up somewhat since I hate it and I don't want to live in a place I hate for the next two plus months.

Ugh, the flow in our apartment is awful. I don't even know what to do about it.

Ick. Me too. My entire place save for the kitchen and bathroom (linoleum) is a nasty wall to wall berber that was not new when we moved in. Yuck. Double yuck in the dining room. If we were going to stay here for a long time, I'd put hardwood in but we really want some yard space.

How fun that you are moving to a new place though! You'll have to share pics. Perfect time for declutterig .

I'm going to try to wash my floors today if DS allows me to. He's 21 months and has more energy than you can imagine. He's napping now but I have to vaccuum first so I'll wait til he wakes up. When I bought this place I made sure to put in tile everywhere which I love love love! I've had carpet and it drives me mad having a dog and now a baby. Its was hard when DS was just learning to walk. Anyways, I'm in and am trying to work on getting the little things I need repaired. My bathroom sink has been clogged for weeks and would drain so slowly. I finally got under the sink and unplugged it . DS stuck his hand in the toilet just as I was doing this -then I tried to wash his hands in the sink. I forgot I had opened up the pipe under the sink. Well, we had water everyhere! I'm not really plumber material. I know I'm kinda jumping around but will get back to reading the book and do things in the order it says.
