Fixing second quality prefolds

I bought some second quality prefolds to trim down and need to repair some of them. There are a few that have some small spots that will need to be darned, two that have what looks to be tags sewn inside and some small stains. I was planning on trimming them after I prepped them so they are all uniform in size. I also wasn't expecting this level of damage (per the store's description).

Should I:

a) Repair, wash, then trim (to avoid fraying or further damage during washes)
b) Repair, trim, then wash (will be easier to trim with the diaper flat)
c) wash, trim and repair (for uniform size)

Thanks!!

I can't say what is the right way here, but I think I would trim them, fix them, and then wash them. Yes, they may not come out all the same size, but who really cares...they will still do their job. (when I get too wound up in having to make my diapers perfect my husband reminds me that they are for catching pee and poop and it doesn't have to be perfect). I think that washing them first may make some of the damage worse. IMO.

I guess that's what I'll do. Thanks!
