s/o Christian stories

The thread about teaching Christian stories comes at a perfect time for me.

I would like my children to also read stories from other religions. Some of you mentioned this as well. So would you share the stories you've found (and where) from other religions?

a very good mythology book filled with poems from all world religions is called: "dragons, dragons & other creatures that never were" by eric carle's - scholastic publishing. "zen shorts" by jon muth is a great book that is focused on zen religion. "you are special" and "you are mine" are excellent! by max lucado - they are based on the christian faith.

these books aren't necessarily tied to a specific religion, but have valuable spiritual lessons imo & could be a great springboard into discussing world religions. the quiltmaker's gift, the valentine cat, and sylvester and the magic pebble. hth.
