Update thread 08/07 - Page 2

HAM, that's silly for her to think your body isn't producing enough oxytocin to put you into labor - I'm SURE!!! Most 1st time Moms don't go into labor until they are well into 41w... mannnnny past that (but are induced). None of them are broken and you aren't either. If that was the case (you weren't), you'd never go into labor - and as we ALL know, no woman stays pg forever!

Keep starting these threads, I love reading our ladies' updates!!!

Ladies, you're all doing great! Hang in there! You can do it! Just know that baby is only in there because he/she is NOT ready to come out yet. It has nothing at all to do with what you're doing (or not doing). BABY is the one who decides when it's time. Tanya went way past her due date with all 5 of her kids... and they all came out! I had a mom on another board I'm on go to 45 weeks. Her first was 43 weeks. Her mom and all the ladies in her family went way past 40 weeks. That's just how long the babies needed. Just relax, watch some good movies, and know that baby will show up when it's their birth day.

It's nice to know all of you are rooting us on!

I had some accupuncuture today again. Here's to third time being a charm. And I'd love to go on a long walk but it's too smokey here in N. California.

My mom flys home Thursday. I never thought she might leave without seeing the baby. I still have tomorrow.

Me too! I had to laugh at the date on today's post--although I'm sure it feels like August 7 to those of you still pg, I assure you it is still July!

Hang in there, mamas i'm excitedly awaiting your posts too!

HAM, I will say this...I think anxiety *can* hold up labor, it would be much more likely than all the other things - not saying that's your issue, but it was mine with this last one. it's so important to just chill and try to almost forget about it...i took some homeopathic gelsemium to get over my pre-labor jitters and was in labor that night. more importantly, maybe, i gave up that evening and said 'obviously, not having a baby today' and really relaxed about it.
hth.

hey beautiful mamas still waiting for their babes.....
haven't been able to get on here much, but wanted to say, from an almost 43 weeker, that it is all worth the wait! I really felt like I was going to be prego forever, and the day before I went into labor, I even let myself think that maybe my body wouldn't do it without medical induction. I feel like I was gifted with the best birth I could ever experience. I realize now, as I sithere typing while nursing my sweet little one, it's all about faith and patience. So tonight I send you all a little faith and patience fairy!

Your bodies and babies are doing exactly what they need to do!
