Biting Baby

I really need some help here. My 10 month old is biting me. Not so much at the breast (although he does that too) but whenever I have exposed legs, belly, arms, he bites. I can't sit to play with him on the floor, all he will do is bite, and he will not be distracted from it. He will also cruise over when I am sitting at the computer, or sitting in my chair watching TV or reading, and just chomps my leg. Using a "serious" voice (not yelling, just low tone) makes him laugh, so all I can do is sit him on the floor and get up and walk away. And then he cries, so I pick him up. He stops and bites me again.

I really don't know what to do here. I thought it was a phase originally, but it's been going on for awhile, he's starting to do it to other kids, and he's not growing out of it!

Biting is really frustrating, especially because it hurts so gosh darn much. My ds starting doing this right about the same age. He is over a year now and we have mostly gotten over this, although he still bites the dog sometimes while they are playing. Here are the two strategies that worked for us.

1 - instead of saying "no biting" constantly, we started saying "just kisses" and showing him how to give a kiss with no teeth and kissing him each and every time he tried to bite.

2 - we tried to figure out when/why he would bite and anticipate the need and/or remove him from the situation. For instance, he would come in the kitchen, sign that he was hungry and then inevitably during the 1-2mins it took to prepare his food, he would bite me on the back of the knee. So, in that situation as soon as he signs hungry, I put him in his high chair next to me in the kitchen or in his learning tower if the prep is something he can help with.
