Have you ever been to Mall of America? - Page 2

I was there about 9yrs ago. It was pretty neat from what I remember. I can't believe it's been that long.

I've been once, since it's 10 minutes from where my brother lives. I don't get the big deal. It's a really large mall, full of the same old chain stores, didn't even have a decent toy store. I'd take one good independent bookstore or toy store over MOA any day.

I won't be going back.

Awh, I love that place! I had a lot of fun the two times I've been. No complaints .

wow . I must really hate malls cuz your post just made me amazed! not to be a downer, it just shows we all like different things. I grew up in MN and i have gone to the Mall of America. I have taken my son there when going back home for visits. But do i "like " it? no. i feel utterly overstimulated and exhausted in that kind of environment though. kids love it. the rides are fun and Lego land is ok. its not bad really. i just hate it. lol!

I think it would be neat to check out, just to be able to say that I did it. But I live in California and don't know anyone in Minnesota (or anywhere near there!), and I'm not making a special trip to the midwest just to go to a mall.

I love MOA. I am from Canada but my parents live in WI. We go and visit every summer (except this one) and go. I like it since there are many stores that we don't have in Canada. Also the no sales tax is great since we are taxed in Canada. DS loves the amusement park and Legoland. We also always ate at the Rainforest Cafe.

I haven't, but I have been to West Edmonton Mall. I liked it.

No, and the thought of it makes me hyperventilate a little. I don't think I'm a mall person. I love to shop, but too many store options all in one place make me a little crazy.

I grew up in MN, so I've been there two or three times when visiting family. Once when they first opened to look around. Once just to go to a movie, and the second time was because ds wanted to take the bus, and the bus we took went to the Mall of America.

What don't I like about it?
It's huge.
It can be really crowded at times. I hate crowds.
I hate shopping, so why would I want to go there?
I hate being overstimulated.
I hate loud places.
They closed the place that served walleye on a stick!
The rides are expensive (IMO). I've never been to underwater world because I'm too cheap.

What's OK:
It's got a huge range of shops - but the thing is, there are repeats too, in addition to some one of a kind things.
If your kids like rides, it's cool.
The lego store is neat.
The light rail goes there now, so you don't necessarily have to drive (you can get from the airport or from downtown to the Mall of American via the rail).
