does anyone not get loose bm's w/ impending labor?

i only had loose w/ my last, and that really sucked. i remember having a solid bm right after birth with 2, which was amazing to the hosp. staff w/ my 1st bc first they see me walking and then pooping (gasp) .my hb just gets worse and worse, even after they drop which is usually early.
right now i just have major gas and pressure, but this is going on the 3rd day. i feel so bad bc the baby jumps really hard when i sit on the toilet. then his head just gets pushed so hard against my cervix....oooh, it all just hurts. whine, whine, whine...but to my question, does anyone not have diarrhea as a sign?

I'm not help but want to see the responses. I'm hoping it is a sign b/c I've had loose bm's for the past few days...

I'm curious too because I never went into labor on my own with #1 (unless you count ROM with no progression), but have had loose poos for almost a week now.

I've had them for about a week now but I don't recall having any symptoms before DD's birth.

Mine aren't really loose, they're just constant. My poor bum!

As for labor, I always go poo during early/active labor but it's always solid.

I didn't with my son, I pooped after as well, solid, even though I was basically snorting stool softeners like illicit street drugs... ouch.
This time, I HAD been having loose ones, until today. Interesting.

A side note - (TMI) for years, I mean like 20, I use to go poop every day. Once, which is normal for someone who eats bran and broccoli and fiber and tons of veggies, right? When I got pregnant with my son, things SLOOOOWED down. And.... I haven't been the same since. I can go DAYS now. Unheard of! Kind of a bummer... (no pun intended).

I've had some amount of BM during pushing with all three births, and right before birth #2 when I felt an urgent need to go. But not really loose. And I never had any trouble going after the births either.
But I do feel rather crampy when I need to go each morning, I think due to the baby's head being in the way!

Never really had much of a difference.

My MW said that if this happened to put diaper rash cream on your bum.

No, I had 2 solid BMs during labor w/ DS1, but it was ROM w/o progress and a lot of pit. It also wasn't very soft afterward even though I was taking softeners, but wasn't a big deal.

A couple appts ago my midwife checked me and when she was done she mentioned that my bowels felt ''VERY FULL'' and told me that I needed to get them under control because if I didn't it could stop me from going into labor. She said that I should be going every day to keep them pretty empty. She told me to take senna... to double the dose. Whew... that worked well when I hadn't gone for over three days, but now I stick to the regular dose because double is pretty painful when I'm going every day. I still have diarrhea every day I take it, but she told me that is better than not going every day. And really, I'd rather have diarrhea any day over constipation, which is my norm even when I'm not pregnant.

This totally doesn't answer your question... but I thought I'd put my 2 cents worth. Good luck!

Oh man, this could be me. I am gonna take your mw's advice. >.< I doubt very much I'd get to be one of the lucky "loose stool" club otherwise!

I never had loose stools with previous pregnancies but I swear the day before last I went 7 times (loose to diarrhea). I got all excited, now I havent gone since.. I feel like my body is behaving so wacky now. I am sick of getting excited over these goofy signs then having them piddle out to nothing. I actually flipped off a contraction earlier. I am so sick of getting 'messed' with! hahaha
